  1. That's far below my highest, which might be $40M/4.
  2. It's weird nobody is saying we should bring Beni back and put Dugu in RF.
  3. Of course. GMs are always graded in hindsight. The way I see it, I'm encouraged by seeing that Bloom saw glimmers of hope in guys like Springs and Martin Perez, but just got the timing wrong.
  4. Most mid tier prospect trades get mentioned, later on. When you make a lot of them, you hope or even expect one to work out in our favor. Bloom has made many more that bring us the mid to lower tier prospects than ones that give them away- not the Springs and Mazza were "prospects". The jury is still out on almost all of them, but it is a bummer that one of the few that went the other way produced a guy like Springs. We have traded away Springs, Chavis, Groome, Mazza, Aldo Ramirez, Scherff, Northcut and a few others. We have brought in... Wong Downs German E Valdez & W Abreu Binelas & Hamilton Seabold Winckowski R Hernandez C Koss J Wallace H Potts de la Rosa, F Valdez & G Gambrel Ferguson & Rosier I'm sure there are more known players I've forgotten.
  5. Just because we added som eone, doesn't mean they will be on the 40 for long.
  6. We know our team's attraction to plus RF defense and not caring too much about high K guys, if they can get on base enough or hit 30+ bombs, so we may settle for Gallo. We aren't the only team in need of a CF/RF'er, and Nimmo will have a lot of teams in on the bidding.
  7. I don't want either, and it's a close call.
  8. I fixed your post for you.
  9. So, as I read it, we'd lose 2 picks and $1M of IFA bonus money, if we sign a QO FA: A team that exceeded the luxury tax in the preceding season will lose its second- and fifth-highest selections in the following year's Draft, as well as $1 million from its international bonus pool for the upcoming signing period. If such a team signs multiple qualifying-offer free agents, it will forfeit its third- and sixth-highest remaining picks as well.
  10. I guess, if the rebuild is going on one more year, and we're looking for a 1-2 year guy, then okay, but we'd have to strike gold in many other areas to win in 2023 with Gallo as a FT'er.
  11. Thaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh Yankeeeeeeeees Lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Not falling for it.
  13. I'm not sure I'd rank any ahead of Haniger... maybe Conforto.
  14. Agreed. Most likely never.
  15. Shouldn't that be put in the 3rd person? You are slipping.
  16. I'm not expecting much either, but Ferguson has some interesting numbers. We got 'em both in the Hosmer for Groome trade, so not much was expected.
  17. I thought you called yourself the best poster.
  18. I like the literal answer better.
  19. Now, yes.
  20. LOL. You only contradict yourself in discussions with me? Classic!
  21. Yes, yes, yes, we know what history means to you with only certain players. Broken record.
  22. I don't forget history.
  23. None of the 4 prospects Bloom acquired at the deadline cracked the top dozen on the soxprospects.com's rankings list, but they did put up some impressive 2022 numbers: Enmanuel Valdez AA/AAA .296 28 107 (T 6th in RBI) .918 OPS (Only 2 players had a higher OPS and more PAs) Wilyer Abreu AA .247 19 73 (2nd w 114 BBs/ 3rd in runs scored w 106) 31 SB w 3 CS (.834 OPS- only 8 players had a higher OPS and more PAs) Max Ferguson A/A+ .214 7 60 (6th in SB w 61 w only 5 CS & 24th in runs, despite just 527 PAs) 8th in BB w 95 helped him to a .366 OBP Corey Rosier A+ .242 7 41 (.359 OBP w 40 SBs and 5 CS) .730 OPS Lots of nice OBPs and speed acquired.
  24. Last year was last year. Forget about it!
  25. notin's got the intangibles that Haniger only dreams of having.
