  1. Still on a nice run by several SP'ers, this spring: 0.00 ERA and IP (WHIP) 5.0 Crawford 0.40 5.0 Winckowski 1.20 4.2 Kluber 1.29 3.0 Walter 0.33 2.2 Murphy 1.13 2.0 Mata 0.50 1.2 Houck 2.40 1.2 Paxton 0.00 The only projected SP who has let up an ER is Pivetta. 25 out of the 39 pitchers who have pitched in ST'ing have a 0.00 ERA. Those 25 pitchers total 54 IP, so far. Notable Pitchers without a 0.00 ERA: 2.25 Bleier in 4 IP (1.00 WHIP) 2.25 Mills 4.0 IP (1.00) 9.00 Brasier 1.0 (2.00) 9.00 Ort 4.0 (2.25) 16.20 Pivetta 1.2 (3.60) 18.00 Kelly 1.0 (3.00) 18.00 Schreiber 1.0 (2.00)
  2. Another W in ST'ing- not that it matters much.
  3. Until Story comes back, assuming he does in 2023, I'm not sure I want Mondesi at SS, Arroyo at 2B and Kike in CF, everyday. I guess how well Duvall is hitting might make the choice easier. (Also, how well Mondesi and Arroyo look.)
  4. They could amend it, quickly.
  5. I hope Kluber can keep this up, when it counts.
  6. The pick-off limit really gives an advantage to the runner, when all are used up.
  7. Those two ties really sucked!
  8. For the Sox, those were 3 very different teams, so yes. The Spurs were a little more constant, but I agree. I think the Yanks 10 in 15 counts. I also don't think 3 championships makes a dynasty. 4, barely. Using that criteria, maybe there were only 6 or 10 ... 1) Celtics (11 in 13) and I'm not even a Celtics fan 2) Yankees (10 in 15) 3) Canadians (10 in 15) 4) Bulls (6 in 8) 5) Packers (5 in 7) 6) Edmonton (5 in 7) 7) Yankees (4 in 5) 8) Steelers (4 in 6) 9) Islanders (4 in 4) 10) Lakers (5 in 9) barely counts
  9. I figure, all New Englanders will (rightfully) put Celtics #1 and probably over rank the Pats dynasty spread out over 18 years.
  10. ST Standings 5-0 BOS (+26 Run Differential) 8-2 KCR (+20) 5-2 STL (+14) 4-2 HOU (+13) 4-2 LAD (0) 5-3 CWS (+3) 5-3 TOR (+3) 5-3 PHI (-4) 4-3 LAA (+10) 4-3 ATL (+1) 5-4 SDP (+16) 5-4 NYY (+3) 5-4 DET (-7) 5-4 CHC (-4) 5-5 TEX (+16) 4-4 COL (+16) ... 3-4 TBR (+20) ... 2-5 BAL (-15)
  11. I was kind of curious how others would rank the top 5 or 10 dynasties.
  12. I do think, when healthy, Duvall, Arroyo and Mondesi are all pretty bunched up, in terms of total value they bring when playing. If and when Story returns, and assuming Kike is healthy and playing well, it will be interesting to see which of the 3 gets most of the playing time. As long as Story is out, we may see some sort of rotation, but I doubt they jerk Kike around the field. The splits don't really scream out for a platoon, but they do point to Duvall as being the best overall hitter. Career v R & L. v R .749 Duvall .696 Arroyo .674 Mondesl v L .771 Duvall .725 Arroyo .719 Mondesi Overall: .755 Duvall .230/.289/.465 .708 Arroyo .255/.307/.400 .687 Mondesi .244/.280/.408 .639 Chang .213/.279/.360 2020-2022 .756 Duvall .225/.284/.473 .747 Arroyo .273/.320/.427 .668 Mondesi .233/.275/.392 .653 Chang .219/.278/.375
  13. I'm not sure Duvall's defense in CF makes for a plus "game." LF, yes.
  14. For some reason, I forgot Chang was on the 40, already. If push comes to shove, despite Chang maybe being more ML ready, I'd protect Valdez and Hamilton over him. I really want to see Valdez get a chance, but it looks like he would platoon, ie ever given a chance.
  15. I think he will hit better than Arroyo, but it's a clase call. Arrroyo at 2B and Kike in CF is a better defensive alignment than Kike at 2B and Duvall in CF, granted.
  16. No, I meant rather than add Chang to the 40, he'd use Valdez or Hamilton as the 26th man and IF depth.
  17. I agree that a good start is essential to successful season. Of course, anything can happen, but starting out well, makes an already difficult situation more manageable. The season no longer starts with a bunch of games off, like the old days. I think we play 25 games in the first 26 days. Starting at home with 3 v BAL, then 3 v PIT is helpful, if we are to start out well. Our first road trip could be tougher (3 @ DET & 4 @ TBR), then back home for 4 v LAA & 3 v MN. The next road trip is not horrible, either: 3 @ MIL & 3 @ BAL. We have a day off then finish April with 3 v CLE at home. The start to May is tough. April Games 6 BAL 4 TBR & LAA 3 PIT, DET, MN, MIL, CLE
  18. At this rate, it looks like the list of 12 may be down to 5 or 6 by opening day.
  19. To you and apparently many others- not me.
  20. On full display, once again.
  21. I added Alfaro to the 40, but yes, I had Chang on the 26, too. It would have to be Valdez or Hamilton. If Wong starts on the IL or bench with injury, we'd need Alfaro added.
  22. Agreed on Houck. I might go with Mata over Walter or Murphy, or if Wink is looking okay, him too.
  23. He called my listing of Houcks ERs allowed bad streaks, "metrics," so be mindful that words have different meanings for some.
  24. Can't stop, I see.
