  1. If he keeps playing like this, 1B or DH in a couple years.
  2. It's a fair opinion, but the season is not over. We are now very close to a couple ALE teams that have some big issues, too.
  3. We are on pace for 85.3 wins, so a couple wins out of the gate could project to 86 wins.
  4. Always the contrarian, I don't like or drink beer.
  5. I was thinking Cherokee.
  6. I hope we draft a SS. I don't trust early pitching picks.
  7. Yes, the trade deadline falls within the last series listed. It is August 1st
  8. I should have put that post in green.
  9. Had Bloom signed or added Iggy when he was released, it would have been a better choice than Kike. I had hoped we'd sign Andrus and play Kike at 2B, and I think that would have been a better choice, despite Andrus not hitting well. (I'm happy the .499 Chang is back, as are many others.) I was okay with the SS plan on day one, but GM are judged in hindsight, and the plan failed. Bloom got it wrong.
  10. No, but you should be moved to DH.
  11. I'm not sure how many of us felt we could possibly end up 5 games over .500 by the break after falling flat on our faces a couple times, last month, but here we are: 48-43 is an 85 win pace. -9 GB fro 1st -7 from 2nd (BAL) -2 from 3rd (TOR) -1 from 4th (NYY) The WC Race: +5.0 BAL +0.0 HOU +0.0 TOR -1.0 NYY -2.0 BOS -4.0 SEA -5.0 LAA and MIN Games to play between the AS break and Trade Deadline: BOS: 3@CHC, 3@OAK, 3NYM, 2ATL, 3@SFG, 3@SEA NYY: 3@COL, 3@LAA, 3KCR, 2NYM, 3@BAL, 3TBR TOR: ARI, 3SDP, 3@SEA, 3@LAD, 3LAA, 4BAL (Brutal) HOU: @LAA, 3@COL, 4@OAK, 3TEX, 3TBR, 3CLE (Nearly brutal)
  12. No doubt. Look who we started and brought in, early. We even rested Dugo before a 4 day break.
  13. Careful. Is that a PC thing to say.
  14. Quite simply, I'm avoiding any back and forth with Red. I'm pretty sure most of the board is happy it has stopped. I do often comment on something he said to another poster or the comment they replied to him with, but I don't see why that should be an issue. I was at fault for keeping the pissing match going, and chose this way to lessen that from happening. Occasionally, I see nothing has changed with the frequent misrepresentations and twistings of what people say, including my own statements. I can't do back and forths with that. If it bothers him and others, so be it. It's better this way than before.
  15. I never thought I'd be so happy to see the return of a .499 player in Chang!
  16. Nice armchair gobbledeegoop. It's not about "lesser opinions" and never was. I've never put anyone on ignore for their opinions. It's the constant misrepresentation of my statements, then double downs when confronted with the obvious false narratives, plus the near total lack of understanding on what words mean and don't mean. It's hard to continue discussing something with someone like that. There are plenty of posters I disagree with on many things- some almost everything (like you), but I've never come close to putting them on ignore or even thought of doing it.
  17. Headed for a clean sweep by Sox farm teams, again today. Woo won 5-3 Drohan 3IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 5K Schreiber continued his rehab with 1IP, 1H, 0ER, 0BB, 1K 2-4 EValdez w 2B & 3B 2-4 Dalbec 1-3 Rafaela w 2B & HBP 2-3 Sogard 1-4 Abreu POR won 2-1 I Coffey may keep moving up the rankings (5.1, 3, 1, 3, 9) Hickey hit the 2 run jack to win the game. His 9th. GRE is up with Blalock looking good.
  18. Yes, but you said 3 last place "finishes." That was Ben.
  19. With all the injuries, it does make some sense keeping everyone fresh and thinking they are a part of the team on the field. It did seem strange resting Dugo before a 4 day break, but at least it was a LH'd pitcher, this time.
  20. He said lefty righty splits aren't metrics, yesterday, but now it appears they are again. Duran is playing great D, too and can run better than anyone on the team. I happen to agree he deserves to be given a chance to play everyday. I just also think others do too, do it's not an obvious choice, everytime a lefty pitches. Please tell me nobody thinks Ref, Turner or Yoshida should sit vs lefties. That leaves 3 lost open: CF, RF and 1B/DH (wherever Turner is not playing) It could be LF, if Turner plays 1B and Yoshida DHs. 3 slots: RHB Duvall LHB Dugo LHB Casas LHB Duran RHB Kike I don't think Cora will ever platoon or even half platoon Dugo. Personally, I think Duvall has to play 100% of the games vs a LH'd SP'er, so to me it comes down to 2-3 players for the last slot, namely Casas or Duran with Kike needing to earn his way over those two, even vs a LHP. He may be better than Arroyo at 2B v LHPs.
  21. No. The numbers I used were this year's Duran numbers vs LHPs. I even gave the 2023 Woo numbers, since this year is all that matters to you. Ref and Duvall blow him away v L. Casas is slightly better. Kike was better, until yesterday. Are you happy Duvall played, today?
  22. It's a close call, to me, but the way Kike is hitting, I'd have gone with Duran, today. I'm glad they started Duvall
  23. He was drafted 17th. That's below the halfway line. He was a HS player. There was no 2020 minor league season. He has played in 2.5 seasons, so don't make it sound like 4. He got hurt one year. He may end up sucking, but maybe Drohan or Jordan salvage that 4 round draft for you.
  24. Before long, he may be our #1 prospect.
  25. Just a brief appearance by me: I wish they had benched Duvall for Duran, today. I know: hit and run is against the law, but I'm outta here.
