  1. Trout still has 0 career HR’s at Fenway Park. Zero. Mookie’s better....
  2. splinter streak. WIN. lets make sciosca sob.
  3. oh yeah? bird is a huge + defensively? didnt realize that...... 1b is a 9 hitter slot? didn't realize that..... 1b is a no power slot? didn't realize that..... good comparison using JBj......
  4. with an unbalanced schedule you have to have 2 WC teams. IMO. if they balance the god damn schedule we can just have the top 4 teams from each league make the postseason. playing TB / NYY / Tor / Bal 10x instead of 18x is enough. no more divisions. just 2 leagues.
  5. safe travels. best to your mama.
  6. perhaps. but unfortunately it will be the last image of Pedroia on a professional baseball field.... thanks Manny!
  7. in all fairness that is exactly the point. it is almost impossible to have players say anything but that about other players. that's also part of being a "good teammate". you dont throw a teammate under the bus. its a fraternity. now if we hit some of their ex teammates with some sodium pentathal we may have a different perspective.....
  8. i dont find it odd at all. Red Sox > Yankees
  9. yankees dont need to do a thing. they are the best team ever. best gm best owner best stadium best players best starting pitchers best relief pitchers best closer best utility players best batboy best beer vendors best defensive outfield best 2 strike hitters best bullpen catcher best team plane best manager best clubhouse attendant no trades are necessary. what's the word on the yankees forums?
  10. it's the reason i hated Lackey. he showed up his teammates all the time. do i think pedroia is a great baseball player? yes he was. do i think he is a good teammate? no effing way we are all former athletes at some level (some of us still playing in men's leagues or coaching our kids) and being a good teammate is at the top of my list.
  11. you headed to the games in the boogie down?
  12. Splinter streaking. I like this team.
  13. When it first happened I thought he was spiked.
  14. It’s not me it’s them
  15. i would not be opposed to that as long as it doesnt bump up against a Erod start as those usually last 5 innings and might need Vela or B-Jo.
  16. not for a few years. and when i did play fantasy baseball i was pretty terrible at it. this time of year as teams start to drop out of the race is when i start looking at possible acquisitions. 90% of it is just stat based research. but when i lock in on someone (right now it's baez) i will follow their AB's or (pitching starts) on the directv baseball package. what i rarely get to see is the defensive play of players not on Sox (or playing against Sox). for that i have to rely on dWar which as we have all agreed to argue about is an imperfect measurement. in a year like this one it is even more difficult to come up with trade possibilities. not only has DD decimated the Farm (as expected) but we are also bumping up against the top LT threshold. it very much limits what we can do so while i would love to trade for De Grom....there is not a chance that can happen.
  17. if there is still a concern with stretching out Valazquez i would go Beeks.
  18. Betts RF Benintendi LF Martinez DH Bogaerts SS Moreland 1B Nunez 2B Devers 3B León C Bradley Jr. CF SoxHop does not have to kill anyone.
  19. OK....so...yesterday i tried to find us a 2bman. and then Wright went down so that scrapped that. do we need another starter? a veteran? a righthanded starter? someone to slot in and eat some innings to save Sale's bullets? there are many others that i would rather have but dont think we have the pieces or the salary cap room to get. here is who i think we might be able to get. the question is...do we really want any of them? Pittsburgh: might want to move Ivan Nova. he has 1.5 years left on a $26MM contract. obviously he has pitched in the ALE before so that should not be an issue. he would be a BOTR starter to eat some innings. Minnesota Twins: Kyle Gibson. under team control until 2020. White Sox: James Shields. another former ALE pitcher. at the way tail end of his career now. but perhaps one last shot at a World Series can motivate him and we catch lightning in a bottle? he's in the final year of a $18.75 AAV contract. San Diego: Tyson Ross. having a decent season in his "im about to be a FA" year. not sure what it would take to get him as a rental but this would probably be my first choice.
  20. not announced yet....
  21. for a girl its too easy to bully and remove the N.
  22. my man! might i suggest: the day of his birth...name the little guy after whoever is the Red Sox "player of the game" that day. Jackie Bradley Hugh JD Hugh Xander Hugh Mookie Hugh surely the Mrs. would agree with this approach?
  23. hand him a blank contract and tell him to fill in the numbers. it will be a bargain.
