  1. I’m of the opinion that the guys that we depended on all year need once more prove dependable.
  2. Fine then. I begrudgingly accept your apology. To each their own. Happy baseball-ing(?)
  3. IDK. Hanley kinda had that Billy Madison, getting out and leaning on his trans am, jean jacket, blasting The Stroke in front of the whole school while everyone’s just trying to get to class kinda vibe to him. Bad guy? No. He just didn’t really fit this team.
  4. Because he’s a warm body. Somebody needs to keep the BP kerosene heater going. I’ve never put too much reliance on the last 2-3 spots on any roster. But of course we’re playing against Dave Roberts. So I’ll bite my tongue here a little.
  5. I think Pom will get as much playing time as Blake Swihart has gotten thus far.
  6. Anyone think the cold weather may help the sox at all? Even just a little?
  7. I guess not. The Red Seat podcast eluded to that Wright was going to play. Meh Pom it is then.
  8. I thought Wright was replacing Workman?
  9. At least you weren’t tied to a poll at the time. You weren’t tied to a poll were you?
  10. I feel like we’re playing the Yankees again, only w/ more veterans that may play better than we expect. I’m also expecting better performances from both Sale & Price. I’ve follwed both Kershaw & Buehler all year (both on my fantasy team that went 17-3-1 btw). I like Buehler a lot but he’s young, Kershaw can pitch very pedestrian at times. Both Kershaw & Ryu don’t strike out many hitters so I think we see the Sox put a lot of balls in play. We stay away from hitting into twin killings -should be fine. Sox in 6 for me as well.
  11. And still no love for the Sox. Not in the least.
  12. I just find it a little weird and annoying quite honestly. You do spend a lot of time here. How much time do you spend on LAD forum? Ya’ know, that team you hate for 50 years but are all of a sudden rooting for.
  13. I like this post. And it’s why the Red Sox have been so good, they’re not one dimensional.
  14. Jesus Christ Harmony, are you f***ing serious? A 50 year hatred won’t stop you from rooting against the Sox? Are Dodger message boards that good? I don’t get it.
  15. We also have made it a habit of rising to other team’s BPs no matter how good they seem to be. Starters , relief, somebody’s getting tagged.
  16. Yeah, it’s getting to be borderline criminal assualt w/ fishface. I really hope it catches up to him someday.
  17. Indeed. I was thinking the other way around. If Sox were down 0-2 and some comination of Kinsler & Nunez are 0-8 or 0-16, we pull out all the f***ing stops and go for broke and play Mookie at 2B. Other than that type of scenario I really don’t see much straying from what we’ve done all year.
  18. That’s true, I get your point. And some of that was not wanting to break up arguably the best defensive OF in baseball for long stretches at a time. I would think that we’ll see how Kinsler (& Nunez) look in the first two games before anything like that happens.
  19. I’ve suggested it every year (except maybe this season- I gave up) even before when Mookie was still in the minors during the talk of calling him up. I called it “Pedroia Insurance”. I’ve never thought it was CRAZY crazy. After winning 2 GGs in RF, I can see a small argument that it’d be a tad crazy. I think Betts is a superior athlete and I wouldn’t put anything past him. I still think a lot would have to happen for the Sox to go this route ( bad stuff, like getting shut down by LA’s SP-ing). So yeah, I’ve never been opposed to the idea, I just wish the organization considered it a long time ago.
  20. Me as well. I feel right now is a bad time for that, but I’m am hoping for JD trying 1B next season. If only for 20 games or something. Idk.
  21. I also heard that Betts takes 2B reps before every game during the regular season. I wouldn’t know. I don’t get access to any pre-game warm-up stuff, I only get most of the actual games themselves. Only going by what I’ve heard.
  22. It’s an interesting option. If Cora does do that, I think I may respect him even more than I already do. Plus, nothing says Betts has to play 2B the whole game. It was cool to see Betts earlier in the year take over at 2B for that one game and I thought he did well. I still doubt it happens, but I like that they’re keeping their options open and not poo-pooing such a move out of principle.
