  1. Fine. Then I disagree with you calling out our best hitter who is also busting his bust on every play this year--and saying he is a dumbass.
  2. Not inexplicable. He reacted because he rarely ever is the left most guy in the infield and just assumed there would be someone there.
  3. You really do like attacking these guys, don't you? Is there anything about any of the players or the team you actually like?
  4. He did it because he's used to having a thirdbaseman there and immediately saw his mistake and hustled his butt. Hard for me to gripe about that, but feel free to do so.
  5. Nice combo today: ERod stunk, no surprise; bullpen stinks, a surprise: hitting disappeared again; fielding so-so, but still no errors. I hope JD in the outfield will occur less and less. Ditto Moreland at 1B.
  6. ERod has always had pretty good stuff, not not pretty good location. JBJ benched again today with Beni going to CF, JD to LF, and Moreland playing 1b and batting 6th, with Devers going down to 8th, no doubt to try to revive the bottom of the order.
  7. He was a former pitching coach who knew that accumulated pitches for a season were and are a factor. If anything, last year he let Sale, in his first year with the Sox, throw too many innings and pitches in the first four months. There is a reason why every MLB manager has 12 pitchers on his 25 man roster and just 13 position players.
  8. It was a 10-2 game in the 8th. Who cares whether Porcello gave up another run after 7 excellent innings? This pitching staff has the lowest ERA ever for a Sox team—granted, just the first eight games—and you think Cora is clueless?
  9. JBJ is hitless, but has made good contact. Nunez saved us last year. Sandy is in there to keep Porcello focused or whatever--and it seems to be working.
  10. And breezy. Think wind chill factor. Or Robert Frost: The sun was warm but the wind was chill. You know how it is with an April day When the sun is out and the wind is still, You're one month on in the middle of May. But if you so much as dare to speak, A cloud comes over the sunlit arch, A wind comes off a frozen peak, And you're two months back in the middle of March.
  11. 5 K's in 5 innings and 0 walks. Inspiring.
  12. This game is all Porcello's. First he inspires the lineup to find their grooves. Now he's mowing the Rays down. This guy can do everything. Forget Sale and Price--Rick is our man.
  13. I completely agree. Those first 8 games of a season are everything. By the same reasoning, I figure the Sox for 110-125 wins.
  14. Meh. If he hits it hard, he will be fine.
  15. Could be. I just checked up-to-the-minute stats, and Bogaerts now leads the team in dingers, rbi's, runs, hits, OPS. SLG, doubles, and AVG. Looks like 5th is the right slot for him.
  16. OK, let's give credit to the real guy responsible for those 8 runs. Forget Bogaerts. I'm nominating Porcello because his crappy pitching gave the lineup notice--if we are going to win this one, it won't be because of great pitching. Well done, Porcello! The rest of you scummy starters now know what you have to do--stop pitching great in the first 5, 6, or 7 innings. Just stop it.
  17. Orioles tie Yankees, 2-2, in the 3d.
  18. ump inconsistent on low pitches. That ball to Betts was higher than the strike to Bogaerts.
  19. Vintage Porcello. Not just 2 runs, but 20 pitches per inning. Good K pitch however.
  20. I was not against bringing him up, but also was happy with whatever the FO decided.
  21. You are such a cynic, but right now Porcello deserves every bit of it. Let's hope you're wrong.
  22. Dumb Rays catcher. Those low fastballs were working, so he called for a splitter that stayed up. Thank you.
  23. Good decision by Beni.
