  1. And what a catastrophe that proved to be--until the GIDP rubbed him out.
  2. If Mayer comes back. Right now the mlb.com guy for the Sox says September at the earliest.
  3. I completely agree. To make it worse, The Sox paid Sale's salary last year when he won the Cy Young for the Braves. When Breslow made that decision, it was his first shot at CBO. That was then. This is now.
  4. 4-2 Sox with Buehler returning to scare the dickens out of us yet again.
  5. Meh. As I've said ad nauseum, this Sox team's pitching has the same team ERA, 3.74, as the 2018 team, and is also ranked 8th in MLB, same as 2018. The hitting has scored the 4th most runs in MLB and has the 5th best OPS. The defense is pretty solid at catcher, in the outfield, and at 3b and SS. They are now 5-5 playing four Division leaders in a little over 2 weeks--and leading the Astros 4-2 even the 11th game. I have mentioned Giolito for Sale many times, but at the time most of us were ready to let Sale go after 5 straight seasons of mediocrity. Right now Giolito is our 3d best starter and Sale is on the 60 day IL. You guys keep examining those lousy trees and miss seeing the forest.
  6. Buehler is one of the most exciting Sox pitchers I can remember. Calamity is just a pitch away.
  7. Attendance last night was 36,881, possibly the high for the season.
  8. What an idiot he is. The Sox would be leading MLB if he hadn't signed Crochet and Chapman.
  9. He has been a complete surprise in every respect.
  10. Recently he's been catching 4 games to Wong's 1.
  11. You're right. It's just that it was righty vs lefty and out best hitter was the righty.
  12. Walker Houdini Buehler escapes a scary 2d inning. The guy is a spellbinder. No, wait, a Freddie Kruger.
  13. Altuve delivers with your ever popular GIDP.
  14. Buehler is in a groove. He either throws an obvious ball or one right down the middle. The Astros love him.
  15. Sox hitting stunk in the 1st inning. And Buehler is scaring us on the mound.
  16. My goodness the Sox are failing to hit fat pitches down the middle. 91 mph fast balls.
  17. Love the kids in the stands signaling dinger. 2-1.
  18. Buehler escapes the first inning giving up just 2 runs thanks to a third out line drive to Rafaela.
  19. Right now, you got me, pardner. The Astros are killing him.
  20. Fast ball right down the middle--2 run dinger for the Astros.
  21. Agree. But he did have a pretty decent July.
  22. Thanks for the start. Buehler pitched better than Gordon in July, which was far and away Buehler's best month of four. Cora has 7 righty bats against lefty Gordon. The two lefty bats are Anthony and Duran in RF and LF with Rafaela back in CF. I would like to say the Sox have a chance to win this game, but I've been reading the comments. Cora should forfeit because Breslow failed to fill a whole bunch of desperate needs. Plus the Sox are in blue and yellow today.
