  1. I'll take Sawamura over Andriese every time. Taylor too.
  2. You're talking about Andriese of course, who is on other teams' hit lists. As for Dalbec, Cora kept him because he hit well in the minors and in last year's truncated MLB season.
  3. He owes a lot of us. moonslav was just about his only defender, so Dalbec owes him nothing.
  4. Dalbec nails a changeup!!!! Don't move him up in the order, not when he is hitting well at or near the bottom of the order. Chavis, on the other hand, appears to be perfecting his ability to K.
  5. LA pitchers have good changeups. Sox pitchers don't. ERod had one early in the season, but lately it's been getting hit hard.
  6. Cora appears to think you should keep sending out rotten relievers to get them some tough game experience. It's all about encouraging players and trying to build them up. Winning the game is secondary.
  7. Meanwhile, the guy who should have gone in to replace Pivetta is warming up in the bullpen. By all means, Cora, bring Sawamura in after the horses have left the barn.
  8. This one is on Cora. Andriese was rotten last time out.
  9. Angels look very comfortable at the plate and swinging against Andriese's pitches. Terrible call by Cora.
  10. But he is also pitching very well.
  11. Pivetta lucky on those two fastballs down the middle to Trout.
  12. Had Bogey completely befuddled with changeups and the coup de grace, a slider way out of the zone.
  13. Pretty good 3 innings by Pivetta. I especially like following the double by Ohtani with a K of Ohtani.
  14. Because Bogey DH'd last night and hit well, and Devers went to Cora and demanded he get a shot at DH, especially at Fenway where JDM can play the green monster like a ukelele.
  15. Chavis and and Vazquez almost rhyme and can almost hit the ball--but not quite.
  16. Renfroe, Renfroe, he's our man!
  17. My quarrel with 13 and 13 is that there doesn't seem to be much advantage in carrying 4 extra position players. You basically only need 3--a spare catcher and two infielders/outfielders. This is especially true in the AL where pitchers don't hit, so all good bats get into the lineup and don't ride the pine so they can pinch hit for the pitcher. On the other hand, given the new standard for starting pitchers--just give us 5 innings, please--you can always use another reliever. Relievers, unlike spare infielders/outfielders, can win or lose the ball game in just that one inning (or three batters). I think most of us agree that our bullpen looked much better than expected for most of April, but seemed to be tired in May.
  18. Moreland has great wheels to prevent that GIDP.
  19. She's gorgeous of course, but she also does a good job with both parts.
  20. Renfroe with two excellent throws. On the first one the A's runner decided not to go, but Renfroe hit the cut off man perfectly so the guy on first couldn't advance. On the 2d, he also hit the relay man perfectly, and Arauz made a great throw hom. Sox look great all around tonight--pitching, hitting, baserunning, and defense. That said, the first 7 runs were all off the starter--2 IP--and in the succeeding 5 innings by the bullpen the Sox have scored 1 unearned run. So, one more time, I have to say: the Sox are better than other teams at hitting mistakes, but not so good at hitting good pitching. This win is very timely.
  21. Pretty good, but long. When it came out, critics and fans didn't much care for it. Now it's highly rated.
  22. So maybe the bats are back!
  23. Chavis hustles up a double and scores!!
  24. Great stretch double by Chavis. Also great non DP.
