  1. That play blows my mind. I mean if you question that one, you kind of have to question every sliding play there ever was at the plate. Can we really know that every slide wasn't a fraction of an inch above the plate?
  2. ... mstrnoyingsaas what//...
  3. Oh for f***s sake....... Holt is horrible this year after a major concussion. Last year he was servicable and could hold his own in most positions. He was also electric and can get things started. He had some major messups, but also some amazing plays not many othe subs would make. And he was a hard out at the plate..... As a manager... you have to see what these people have, you have to play them. It's hard with subs cause you they don't get much playing time......... so you have to keep going with them until it's exausted.............. you guys might as well start crapping on the bat boy.......... it would make more sense...
  4. and confetti cannons ...........
  5. We should do this next year. Keep track and have a judge.
  6. That's how I see it. There's no fixing that at this point. And I can't find the coach at fault for it because Hanleys a wing-nut on the basepath. Hanley when right, hits and plays some first. That's all I expect from him. I also think there is a correlation as to how much his helmet falls off to how well he is hitting. Get that man some Velcro on his helmet for goodness sakes.
  7. Boring ass loss that you kind of felt was going to happen in the first few innings.......
  8. You all have to go back and watch this play if you aren't watching now. Vaszquez slides into home and is called out. Farrell challenges it. He's still called out....... It is beyond obvious he was safe.....
  9. I dig Travis only for the reason he has no chains and doesn't wear gloves...... I think he is part caveman...
  10. O.B. "That might be the worst throw from right field I've seen all season".
  11. Box scoring this one....... but it looked like a McSlaughter....
  12. I think Farrell has managed the catching tandem very well this year. I also think he has done well with the use of the bullpen and pulling starters. The complaints in this department is usually full tilt each season, this year it has been minimal. I have very few compaints about who he has started and have used. He's tested struggling players (Holt and Young), and then went elsewhere when he could adding them in once in a while to see if they got their stuff back. I like how he juggled the hitting lineup. I think he saw people struggling, and adjusted well to give them a different look. The boneheaded play stuff has been off the charts bad. Other than the Price incident which I don't think he handled well, I think he has handled the press well. He has seemed to get good use of the quickness of the squad. I like the agressive baserunning. I don't think he has managed a squad with this speed. I beleive he has done well. I like the win-loss column. He has had to deal with some players struggling for lengths of time this year. Soxhop gives Farrell............. a solid B- score for performance this year.
  13. Remy said to put the low and away curve signal on, then come in with a high and tight fast ball. I bet that would work wonders....
  14. Judge to strike out at the end for the loss.......... Sweetness......... Doesn't look like we can make a push for homefield. Which sucks because we are really good at home. We may be able to adjust our pitching to the playoffs. And possible find some rest in there for some players too. Looks like Clev, Hous, and possibly Boston are going to the show fully locked and loaded and will be able to set their starting rotation. At this point. I'm hoping Minnesota makes a push and beats out the bad guys.....
  15. I'm right there with you on this....
  16. That was something special in the booth tonight. Even the three in the booth knew it...
  17. They were talking about pitch signals earlier and that they change up the signals a few times a game. They mentioned a lot of the catcher visits to the mound are to switch up the signals. Do any of you know about how many times a team changes up the signals in a game on average?
  18. I think I took for granted how much Remy knows about ball. Hearing him for the first time in a while reminds me just how knowledgable he is.
  19. Blammo.....
  20. No one cares, unless it could have meant resting a starting pitcher a game or two or setting up the starters for the first game series..... or home field advantage...
  21. It has stuck out like a sore thumb. We have people on this board who have been watching almost every Sox game for decades. And people who haven't have equated some of the running to stuff they learned in early years of playing ball. Things can get overblown here on this board. But, the running this year has been abnormal. I have to salute Farrell for being aggressive with a fast team. I think he deserves quite a bit of credit for using the tools he has been given. But to not even note that the absent minded running is a concern or that it cost a game or is a problem, is mind boggling to me.
  22. Great win. I think we needed it just to get out of a hitting funk. I'm not sure if that will do it, but it's one step forward and one more step in the count down in games we need to win to clinch......
  23. Wait till one of them pulls this crap in a playoff game like MVP said..... Oh Boy..........the s*** will REALLY hit the fan on this site.....
  24. I'm speachless.... and really don't understand that bad baseball doesn't lead to less wins... I have no retort..
