    Hell, talks of best signing and it's too early in the season to judge the contract. Try it's only been a couple months in a multi year contract to judge the contract. This thread would start to make sense at the end of the season, and then carry some weight two years later, and then have some serious consideration 3 years later. And possibly have some light shed on the answer in about 3.5 years.....

    I actually have an Astros shirt. I went to Houston to see a game a couple years ago. I wanted to by an old popsicle colored jersey, but they were too expensive.

    crap, I thought we might take game 1 and 3. I guess you never know when NY comes to town. The line says Masterson did well. That may be more important in meaning for the season than the one loss.

    No way, I didn't see the game. He had one fouled off his hand the other day and I was thinking that he's going to get hurt having his hand just hanging out there. . Dang....... I thought he was really solid....... this isn't good.

    I wonder how much more it would have taken to get him for 5 years. Say you give him 90 mil, that's 18 mil a year. I don't think he would have turned that down. Essentially they Sox and Porcello are somewhat negotiating around 10 million dollars. Would you all have done a 5 year contract for Porcello at 18 mil a year or 90 mil over the contract? A question here. Does cutting a player at the beginning of a year and paying him out affect anything? Are there any repercussions for doing that? I love that you all are discussing this contract. I find it one of the most interesting contracts to come around as most seem cut and dry, this one doesn't. I'm leaning on the side that believes it was a good deal for the Sox, and maybe only because salaries are going up so much so soon.

    First game.............Masterson vs Sabbathia I know there was a discussion about what team you like the least when I first showed up to this board. And there was some Tampa votes, and some Baltimore votes....... But I tell ya, if you don't want more than anything else, but to put a big hurt and total ass kicking on the Yankees coming to town. Then you need to see a New England psychiatrist that will set your priorities straight. I don't want to even consider losing this series as it might give me nightmares. Masterson, Miley and Kelly.......................get this s*** done. I like the matchups, we can take 'em........

    I finally come home and turn on the game and it isn't a score fest. Looked like the Sox did good. It almost looks like a normal baseball line score... wow. OK, one more step closer to the World Series!!

    Just read that Porcello has had bad Aprils his entire career. I think the article said his career era for April was about 6. So....... there's that.

    Yea, I figured out the history. It's just he's never crossed my path, and I piled on tonight. He deserves to take free jabs at me. Back to baseball. What 6 era pitcher do we have starting tomorrow? What's funny is a friend at work has been taking the over every night on a Sox game. I always get a fist bump from him in the morning.
