  1. The Pirate's Cove mini-golf course doesn't count!
  2. Probably just liked saying "hobgoblin" when he was hammered.
  3. Heck no, but some here weren't willing to give him a chance. Just me being sarcastic.
  4. Ok, the "idiots" comment threw me. That usually carries a negative connotation.
  5. So, is that a positive or a negative for Farrell?
  6. No, the Sox do not run the bases like "idiots" this year. And no, the players are not "covering mistakes, they're simply better at it this year. Does that clear things up for you?
  7. So, you're telling me that Farrell is still having the players run the bases as badly as last year, but now some of the players are smart enough not to listen to him all the time? Sorry, not buying it. They sucked at baserunning last year because they were mostly young and lacked experience. It's basically the same roster, they've simply gotten smarter about picking their spots to be aggressive. As far as gaffes from the slower guys, you'll see that with any team. And, occasionally, you have to make the defense make a play.
  8. Considering there are no readily available "aces" out there to be had, is another #2-#3 starter going to help this team, if Wright is the only starter you can rely on?
  9. Another thing you notice is that fans aren't ripping the manager and/or coaches for poor baserunning. Evidently, good baserunning is on the players, bad baserunning is on the manager.
  10. I'll take a snake any day over a spider. I'm constantly saving snakes from my cat. And I'll take both over a diaper full of baby crap!
  11. So, when does it warm up enough for Price to start earning his contract? Trading for a "#2" is a waste of resources if the rest of the staff is going to be mediocre.
  12. If the info about Ortiz's feet and ankles are true, I think the dropoff would be much worse than 33%, if they get worse. I'm going to miss that swing, but he's doing the right thing, IMO.
  13. Losing the last two games the way they did is enough to piss off the most optimistic fan. They score 16 runs in 2 games, you expect at least one W.
  14. Thanks slasher. Yup, humans are a stubborn bunch. "Change!? Oh, hell no!!"
  15. I think most of Pedroia's issues had to do with his hands. He looks plenty healthy now.
  16. Really? No wonder nothing much is done to lousy umps.
  17. Remy seemed to think it was directed at the ump and the lousy ball 3 call.
  18. Yup, some transparency in the process would help. But, I'm betting the Ump union would fight it, tooth and nail.
  19. A little slack from both "sides" would be beneficial, IMO. There been a little too much "what can I get away with" from the new member and a little too much "get off my lawn" from the regulars.
  20. Yeah, because THAT has never happened around here before... Jesus.
  21. Congrats SY! Quite the accomplishment in this day and age.
  22. I'm stunned that those three are not near the top of the list! Diaz is wrong 15.1%
