  1. We are tied for the 4th best WAR in the AL, meaning we are definitely a wildcard contender, at least. Bloom isn't finished yet, and I'm guessing that there will be in season moves as well. Look out Yankees!
  2. !!!
  3. 100% agree. That said, I would prefer that the Dodgers not win a World Series next year, unless it comes down to them or the Yankees.
  4. There are some who didn't want Price, but the majority here wanted him badly. I didn't have anything against him as a pitcher, I was just very much opposed to the huge contract. As far as the Sox trading Mookie to get rid of Price's contract, I don't think that's an accurate statement.
  5. Exactly.
  6. Red Sox Stats @redsoxstats · 14m As camps open here is where Fangraphs thinks the talent is across MLB Our offense will be fine. Our current outlook for 2020 is not as bad as some seem to think.
  7. That's just a formality until the investigation is finished. The 'interim' in his title is more than likely to go away soon.
  8. Nor should they. I don't get all the eagerness to trade JBJ.
  9. He has a plan. Henry needs to have the patience to let Bloom see his plan through.
  10. I have always been a Brock Holt fan. I would love to have him back.
  11. Almost everyone said that same thing about Price, that he was more of a sure bet as an 'aging' pitcher than any other pitchers. After a couple of years, many of those same people wanted him off the team, and almost everyone is now glad to be rid of him, even with the Sox paying half of his salary.
  12. I know many are hopeful that we can sign Betts as a free agent, now that we've reset the tax penalty. I really, really hope we do not. Tying that much money up in one player is not a good idea. There are better ways to construct a roster with that kind of money.
  13. Please do. But get it right.
  14. Had I had a drink in my mouth, it would be all over my laptop screen after reading this.
  15. A lot of wishful thinking going on here Jacko. It will be very funny when the Yankees once again fail to win the World Series this year.
  16. The totality of the moves made by Dombrowski put the Sox in a corner, or more aptly, at the cliff. Giving Mookie the kind of contract that he is asking for would almost certainly put the Sox at another cliff in the not too distant future.
  17. I very much disagree. It's not like Henry is a tight wad. I don't see that he has any obligation to continue to pay extreme tax penalties when he consistently puts a contending product on the field.
  18. Buchholz? Welcome to the dark side. Holt would make some sense, but right now Bloom's focus needs to be on pitching, pitching, pitching.
  19. I am talking about during the Henry era. No team stands up to the Red Sox during that time frame.
  20. It's not way more than I thought they would get, but in no way did the Sox get hosed. It's a very good return. Many thought that Betts for Verdugo straight up would be a very good return. Downs and Wong are a very good start to replenishing our farm system in areas of particular need. Now, Bloom needs to turn his attention to some starting pitching for this year.
  21. Oh, I've noticed. I'm not on here to be the grammar or spelling police though.
  22. Now we need to focus on pitching.
