    Pedroia is gold glover, Napoli is at that level, Holt is good at 3B, Betts is unknown, Gomes is ok. Everyone talks about how bad Xander's defense was at SS, but he has looked fine to me. I've only watched about half the games, so maybe he's just bad in the games I miss, but I've only seen 1 error on a bad throw when he was rushed, and he's made several really good plays. My wish is for Drew to be gone (what are they waiting for?!?!), XB at SS, Holt at 3B, Nava/Gomes in LF, Betts in RF, JBJ in CF. When/if Vic or Middlebrooks come back, JBJ can be benched. Some amazing stats--including last postseason, Drew is 13-110, 4 BB, 35 K, 1HR, 5 R, 5 RBI 1 SB. He has a .339 OPS!! Some more optimistic stats-- Betts 29 SB this year in minors, entire Red Sox team 27 SB.

    Mookie Betts getting called up today. Red Sox play .650 ball the rest of the way. Sox win the World Series when Mookie hits a ground ball that goes between the legs of Adrian Gonzalez.

    Is Napoli sick or injured? He can't seriously be out just for a rest day.

    I'm a newbie here so nobody cares about my opinion, but anyway I'd say maybe fred is going on a bit much about Drew, but he deserves to rant some after such things as this were said-- sbf-- "The Drew signing was stupid and will net us nothing." UserName?--"That's your opinion, which happens to be both wrong and stupid. " and "Fred needs to STFU. There's no way to spin the fact that the team is better with Drew than without him." Maybe if UserName was here fred could direct his rants toward him, but thankfully he has disappeared for now.

    I think Rubby looked decent against Detroit. He certainly looked better than Lester the next day. Sometimes you just get hit. It happens. His stuff looked good and he only walked 2. Still too early to tell obviously.

    I don't have a problem with Drew. I have a problem with the signing of Drew. It was unnecessary and a waste of $10 million. It's not my money so maybe I shouldn't care, but I would have rather they just dump $10 million out of a blimp over Fenway. I didn't really expect Drew to hurt the team (or help the team), and don't know if he has been a cause in the recent struggles or if it is just coincidence. I think he has been part of the reason, but that's just my opinion.

    I'm hoping they trade him, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. He would have gotten more total money elsewhere, but I highly doubt anybody was gonna pay him $14 million per year. The QO was a bad move, and they were lucky Drew turned it down, but then they screwed up and gave it back to him. Pretty much everybody thought the $9.5 million for 2013 was too much, and I don't see how he earned $4.5 million more (almost 50% increase) for this season.

    I registered here just to voice my similar opinion to random internet people. Having Drew on the team isn't necessarily bad, but it's just nuts to pay $10 million for 2/3 of a season of a platoon player, who is not needed at all, addresses none of the issues causing the team to struggle, and at best marginally improves the team. At worst is what has happened the past week.
