  1. Yes two decent pitchers. You can tell Christmas at Fenway is this weekend, with all these moves occurring.
  2. I'm not surprised that Lester is gone. They should have made better offers last spring. I think Lucchino is the guy to blame. How often does a guy resign with his original team after being traded at midseason. Has it ever happened?
  3. 2011 Ramirez 92 games played 2012 157 games 2013 86 games played 2014 128 games played So in the past 4 years, he has ONE full season
  4. I like Sandoval, but I don't like the Hanley signing. Ramirez is injury prone and on the decline, so we offer him 90 million??
  5. The Stanton deal is just plain nuts. I don't get it at all, the Marlins never pay and now they decide to pony up the most expensive contract in history. The money and the years are crazy. Look at A-Rod!
  6. I'm all for daytime World Series games. Even with the 8pm starts, most of the games don't end until at least 11pm or later. There have not been many close games in this Series, so perhaps that is why ratings are down. I guess there are many reasons for the lack of interest - attention spans of the computer generation, the saturation of sports on TV, the length of games. Although revenue is up for MLB, TV ratings are down.
  7. Peavy is now one of the most ineffective post season pitchers ever. I think I saw that he has one of highest postseason ERA's of all time. Still he has that duckboat.
  8. Yes Shields hasn't been great, but I bet he still gets big money in the FA market.
  9. Who's ready for the World Series to begin? Predictions anyone? I'll go with the Royals in 5 games.
  10. Everything is going well for the Royals, I think they are going all the way to a World Series title.
  11. Lester has a decent postseason record too - 7-5 with a 2.92 ERA, 1.27 WHIP over 17 starts
  12. Nice to see Carl "the whiner" Crawford make the final out for the Dodgers!
  13. I had this with Jon Lester this year. It was May 22, 2014 - 7 runs allowed to the Blue Jays over the 1st two innings!
  14. Both are indeed facts. Beckett has great in 2007, but fell off the board toward the end. He was actually having a decent season for the Dodgers this year, and he's only 34 but is going to retire.
  15. Great job by Lackey. I was rooting for him last night. I know the Dodgers haven't been there in a while, but I really don't like Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez. I believe the Dodgers are going with Kershaw today, unfortunately he seems to turning into the A-Rod of postseason pitchers.
  16. I'm surprised the Royals won, I wonder is Scioscia is in trouble now. Who would have called a Baltimore/KC ALCS back in March?
  17. Meanwhile in DC, Jake Peavy on the mound in NLDS Game 1.
  18. Tigers are not looking good...
  19. Ouch this Tigers bullpen is BAAAAD... they all put gasoline on the fire.
  20. I would like to take my kids, but the game dates have not worked out for me.
  21. I'll submit the rest of my picks PIT over SF Dodgers over StL WAS over PIT WAS over Dodgers Angels over KC Balt over DET Angels over Balt. WAS over Angels for World Series
  22. It was an entertaining game regardless of ratings. I wonder where Lester ends up? Red Sox West are eliminated.
  23. They never did an adequate job of replacing Ellsbury, Drew and Salty. They stuck with Bradley, Sizemore and Bogaerts too long. Starting pitching and 3b must be addressed. Will Cecchini get a shot at third? Nice send off for Jeter today.
  24. It wouldn't surprise me.
