  1. As Eck pointed out, that ball would have been gone is most parks.
  2. I only get NESN through MLB.tv so I never get to see the postgame shows or anything but I think he is really terrific as a color.
  3. I do too, obviously. But his input is greatly appreciated nonethless.
  4. Am I the only one to really enjoy having Eck in the booth?
  5. How glorious was that? I really don't care what anybody says, it was still worth it. Now it actually feels like a Red Sox - Yankees game.
  6. Honestly, I much prefer the Napoli we are seeing right now. He's more disciplined at the plate and works counts. Yes, he had a bunch of RBIs early in the season but it really was all or nothing at that point. I think he serves us much more the way he hits right now.
  7. Napoli really has been putting up some really good ABs lately. Not striking out as easily as usual and getting deep into counts. Very impressive.
  8. Yeah, sorry that was a typo. It doesn't make the decision look any better though. We were only up by one run.
  9. Yes, that was an abysmal call. But what about Farrell's decision to put Bailey in the 7th inning of a close game? That was worse in my opinion. Bullpen management has been horrendous in general today.
  10. Verlander at 90+ pitches through 4 innings. I'm starting to think we might actually have a shot at winning this one.
  11. Exactly what Doubront needed. 1-2-3 inning on 8 pitches. I'll take that.
  12. And yesterday further illustrated why the Win/Loss stat is just plain stupid. Bailey allowed game-tying HR in the 9th while Doubront pitched 8 shutout inning and yet, the former, not the latter, is credited with the win.
  13. What a great idea it was to put a pinch-runner in the game
  14. Mmh... haven't seen the replay but honestly it didn't look like he was even close to being safe. I might be wrong though. I'd be extremely careful if I was Bailey, with Jones and Davis coming up. If he gets through those two without two much damage however, it's in the bag.
  15. Oh man, Uehara is just great. I love this guy. He struck out the last 6 batters he faced, btw.
  16. Lackey able to get through the 7th without damage. Good news for the bullpen.
  17. Eh true, it'd have probably been a hit if the ball had landed closer to the line. But still, why bunt in that situation? 3-1 count, nobody out and a runner at second....
  18. I hated the Victorino sacrifice though... especially on a 3-1 count.
  19. Is there a stat out there on how many base hit and/ or runs Pedroia has prevented so far this season?
  20. Anyone else feels like Aceves is going to be great tonight just to mess with us?
  21. Screw you, baseball. Can you make some sense sometimes?
  22. POSITION PLAYER PITCHER ALERT
  23. Yep, Mortensen still sucks.
