  1. Welcome to the AL East Mr Lackey: hope you enjoyed your time playing where our weaker sisters play.
  2. Lackey is well off his career stats: ERA: 3.85, WHIP: 1.320, BBs/9: 2.7 You have to wonder how much of his good ERA comes from playing in Anaheim. Still, he should improve. He will never be an "ace" IMO; nor will Beckett.
  3. If the Red Sox manage to win this game and complete the sweep, they will be on a pace to win 95 games. Finally. FYI
  4. It appears that in order to create a save situation, Francona has brought in Ramon Ramirez
  5. 32 appearances for Bard already. Hope he makes it until the end of the season. Just four guys who can pitch in the pen makes it tough.
  6. I prefer: "Only a poppyseed in the bakery of life"......
  7. Rays down 3-0 Phillies up 6-1 vs Burnett; Moyer is mowing down the Yankees
  8. Lets see what that stiff Beltre can do here :-)
  9. Youk will GIDP...will that do?
  10. I see that there is at least one person whose eyes I cannot pull the wool over here.
  11. Almost even odds that the Phillies can win it now. You see, scoring on the Yankees is like shooting Mongo: it just makes them mad
  12. Phillies 6; the New York Baseball Yankmees 1
  13. The tarp is up and the radar looks good. There is a break in the weather most likely between 7 and 10 pm at which time the rain will return...... according to weather.com
  14. I understand that errors don't tell the whole story; they are also not irrelevant. When you look at the defensive value of a player (or his offensive value as well) its important to use all of the data available. There are those who think that UZR is a good way to look at value defensively. Maybe it is. However, the sheer number of errors committed is hard to get around. Personally, I think that overall he has been a pleasant surprise. His defense is likely to improve over the course of the season, based on his history. As things stand right now, the errors stick out like a sore thumb. The ground ball lost in the lights and the linebacker type treatment of his colleagues were freak events...somewhat humorous except for the fact that Ellsbury is still not healthy.
  15. His errors ARE a problem. His other problem is taking out other position players on the team and placing them on the DL. The Patriots could use a middle linebacker like that.
  16. I think you guys are right. Fred USED to be a Dodger fan, but he is now BORN AGAIN. He has SEEN THE LIGHT. He could not care less about them now. He remains borderline manic, but he is actually a pretty good-hearted guy.
  17. Its already copyrighted. You can apply to take it out to dinner, but it will co$t you....
  18. BTW: I noticed that "shitload" didn't get edited out. We cannot even post the name "Reddick" over there without it being censored. Maybe all of George Carlin's words you cannot say on TV are OK here....
  19. Naw....Fred isn't a Dodger fan. His wife is an Angel fan tho.. No matter. I have plenty of extortion material with which to get those beers.
