  1. One more win and the Flips label goes away. I’m sure that’s enough of an incentive for them. Bello is due for a good game.
  2. Got it. I guess you’ll have to take my word for it: it’s fun, but certainly nothing to be taken with more than a grain of salt. It’s at the bottom of my list of things that are important to me in real life. I won’t pretend that winning isn’t MORE fun, but I don’t lose sleep over losing either.
  3. Lol So now you’re telling me what I enjoy and what I don’t? If I didn’t enjoy it on game threads I wouldn’t be there. It’s all for fun and only for fun. I support your decision not to join us.
  4. I have fun on the game threads. I suspect maybe you take this stuff so seriously that’s not possible for you. In that case I think you make the right decision not to go there. If it’s not fun why bother?
  5. " futile back-and-forths. " Its called "debate". If I believe in my position then I will defend it. You should too. There is no expectation that you will convince me that you are right nor vice versa. Sometimes there is no "right", just opinions. Futility only exists when people get frustrated that others remain unconvinced of your position.
  6. While denying reality is common among sewer mouthed imbeciles like you. When you engage in name calling I’ll respond. If you can learn to pretend you’re an adult and refrain from the name calling I’ll stop stooping down to your level. Deal?
  7. Cheer up. That term will likely be retired for this year soon.
  8. And they could have been even better. They WASTED a good team by not filling it in.
  9. Sometimes dumpster diving finds a dollar bill. But its still dumpster diving. Lowe pretty much sucked until he joined the FLOPS. Same with other dumpster treats they dove for. Occasionally they work out. Most don't.
  10. Think we are serious WS contenders? Silly me. I thought THAT was the goal-a ring. Until the Guardians recent surge they were the only playoff team with worse odds to win a ring than the FLOPS. When these figures are updated I suspect the FLOPS will be the LOWEST rated odds to win a ring of those teams who are likely to be in the playoffs. It could have been better had Breslow done his job: https://www.espn.com/sports-betting/story/_/id/38801876/2025-world-series-odds-mlb-baseball
  11. GENERALLY SPEAKING, the teams with the best players year after year tend to get the best results, year after year. The FLOPS have engaged in dumpster diving year after year-Buehler, May, Lowe etc rather than obtaining the kind of quality players consistently who make teams successful.
  12. The simple fact is that Breslow whiffed at the deadline. The needs of the team were NOT met-and that is his job. No moves would have guaranteed a WS appearance, but the right moves would have put the team in the best possible position to do so. I am not interested in excuses, which is what we have got for two years in a row. Only results.
  13. IMO Cora should have input-significant input-but not the final say.
  14. I think we have a deal! No number of quality additions guarantees a ring.
  15. Isn't the goal to win a ring? Did Breslow's results at the TD put his team in the best possible position to attain that goal? A yes or no will do.
  16. Then the corollary is that you would have to admit that since he didn't do his job and obtain quality players at the deadline he did not put his team in the best possible position to win a ring. They already have a good team; they could have had a VERY good team.
  17. No playoffs and I would give him not an "F", but a "C", which is not good enough for my liking.
  18. Obviously that was a different team with fewer needs than this one. Apples and oranges. Each team, each year, there are different needs.
  19. I get that luck plays a role. HOWEVER, obtaining quality players rather than dumpster diving like this franchise does puts the team in a better position to win. Did you want to deny that?
  20. RESULTS matter. Yes, Breslow failed miserably at the TD. Anyone who is honest will admit that. Hell, he admitted it himself. But his earlier successes, bringing in players like Crochet and Chapman, for examples, mitigate his epic fail on July 31 and likely saved his job. The BOTTOM LINE matters: the FLOPS will likely make the playoffs. They could have done much better.
  21. Well then here's another quote: Trying to get out in front of anticipated criticism, Craig Breslow preemptively addressed criticism before anyone even asked. “It wasn’t from a lack of trying to be as aggressive as possible or from an unwillingness to get uncomfortable,” the Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer said after his team’s much-anticipated trade deadline flopped. https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2025/08/red-sox-trade-deadline-another-full-throttle-disappointment.html
  22. They are ALMOST in the postseason, which is why I would not fire Breslow-yet. That does not excuse his crap job at the TD though-two years in a row. He has done some good things, obviously, but I expect more from him than this year's whiff at the TD.
  23. Well at least thats an honest response. While no one is saying he did the job no one has agreed with me that he screwed up either, which he did. Basically he wasted a year of potential contention for a ring. Bottom line: he did not do his job well for the second year in a row. Whether he should get fired for his incompetence is another matter.
