You know what folks? I believe that last year Rafaela was not a contributor offensively-and I have the stats and the sniff test to back up my opinion. I’m done discussing what happened with him last season, preferring to enjoy his performance this year rather than endlessly rehashing a debate with no conclusion. Time to move on

Are you denying the fact that Rafaela had an OPS+ of 96 last year? Or that 96 is below average….?

It’s park adjusted OPS. But you knew that. It’s probably the best single measure of offensive performance imo. Rafaela was below average last year and horrible at the end of the year

He had a below average OPS+ last year and no concept of the strike zone. You don’t win rings with players like that.

Thanks for proving my point. Up until this year he has sucked. In addition he hadn’t a clue of the strike zone. .257 BA and a below average OPS works for you? Doesn’t work for me

I am obviously referring to him with a bat in his hands. And yes-he did suck with a bat. No one ever questioned his defense. Do I need to look up his abysmal OPS for last year. Better yet you look it up.

Cherry picking. He has not “steadily improved “. He sucked at the end of last year and suddenly found his stride when this season started. I proved this but because it doesn’t fit your faulty narrative you ignored it. Regardless-he has certainly become a contributor this year, a fact I’m not shy to point out since I provide this forum with a fair and balanced analysis of a player’s performance.
