  1. Gonzo OPS: .751 Well worth $20M eh?
  2. What? You mean Bard isn't going to shut out the Tigers? Stop busting my cajones....
  3. Three runs for the Tigers wins the game
  4. Incredibly stupid move by Bard, walking the #9 man after your team busted its hump to get a run for you. Just plain dumb.
  5. Fielder missed the tag because he couldn't reach around his own body. What a whale.
  6. If Beckett can get $16M, Verlander could get $20
  7. Gonzo has inside jokes with complete strangers; he can climb a cactus-with ease. Gonzo is....the most interesting man in the world.
  8. If they are admitting to one month, its safe to assume two months is more like it. My guess is surgery and 2-3 months, just based on how they have handled this kind of thing in the past.
  9. More accurately: http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq120/han2008_2009/darth-vader.jpg vs http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/rr323/Victorianangel_album/House%20Mouse/3.jpg
  10. The only way we win tomorrow is if Verlander has an off game. That happens occasionally. Otherwise, its a mismatch.
  11. Seven run rule in effect today. We get seven runs and we have even odds of winning the game. The Tigers are a tough team, though they are not playing well now. Their lineup is going to feast on our crappy pitching. And they have Verlander going tomorrow. We will remain in the cellar well after June 1.
  12. Good and timely thread E1. I would think that this is a good year to sell, if we can find buyers. If we can unload some of the more expensive contracts like those that Beckett and Lackey have, we ought to go for it. Youkilis still has value, and when he departs at the end of the year we will get less in return, most likely, that if we traded him in July. I would also not hesitate to put Lester on the block as well, and Saltalamacchia, of course. Buchholtz too. Yeah, I know that we will rape our starting pitching this year, but look where these guys have gotten us for the past few years: nowhere. I am not advocating giving anyone away (except for Lackey, who I would give away to anyone who is willing to take on his contract). We should be getting quality in return for each trade. Time to flush this toilet though...time to retool.
  13. Thats one of the dumbest posts I have seen here in a while. 70-45 is .608 baseball, or 99 wins in a season. Absurd. We are an average team that will probably play average baseball for the rest of the season. Why? Because our pitching stinks.
  14. And that was an understatement. Missed all but the very beginning of the game. This was a huge win, make no mistake. If somehow Barney Fife can come through with a good effort today against a pretty mediocre Rays offense we have a chance to take the series. The Sox ought to be able to score off Hellickson
  15. Good start for Beckett. He will need to keep that up until deep into this game. I would think that 2-3 runs wins this game. Whoever blinks first loses. Have fun......real life calls.
  16. Goal tonite: drive up Price's pitch count so we can get into their pen early. Price is very tough sometimes. Don't worry you two....not much longer. You will both miss me
  17. In any event, MLB.COM has seen fit to BLACK ME OUT for this game, and its not on TV. So soon you guys and gals will have to do without my sunny disposition here for the game...and for tomorrow's game too as a house full of people will interfere with my participation here.
  18. A guy who gets paid like he gets paid needs to put up consistently excellent numbers. Gonzalez is taking this year off, apparently.
