I agree that sending Rafaela was the right move in that situation. Bellinger just made a great throw. That’s what it took. The other base running play by Rafaela was another boneheaded blunder by him. He’s had a lot of those. It’s an area for improvement. And I don’t get PHing for Duran. He’s finding his groove, especially in late innings and has historically been a better hitter than White.

AR hasn’t been given enough time to get his act together. He was on the IL for an extended period of time. Once/if Story get here he’s fair game for criticism. Duran has been improving. He sucked for a long time. I’ll continue to present a fair and balanced assessment of Rafaela’s performance.

He’s been good but there are some areas of glaring weakness. If he could fix them he’d be a superstar. He’s not close to that yet.

Rafaela’s weaknesses are more glaring than most others. Everyone can improve but most of the guys aren’t stupid on the basepaths and have a better idea of the K zone. He stands out as lacking in those areas.

The good with him exceeds the bad. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to improve in several key areas.
