  1. I wonder, if they can sign him cheap try to transition him to first. There is absolutely nothing in FA. I like the idea of his bat in this lineup next year as long as he's not playing SS. Not because he can't handle it but because the SS position has two amazing prospects slated there
  2. If they don't give Iggy a look for the remainder of the season it would be a huge mistake. We need to see where he is with his development. Especially with Bogaerts coming sooner now cause of the trade. Like it or not he's still a SS meaning that position in Boston could be his. Aviles needs to go absolutely he has no future with this team
  3. Hope to see Bailey full time next season
  4. I have to agree with the comment on conditioning. This sport compared to basketball, football or soccer is in a different league conditioning/ exercise wise. Half the players have guts bigger than the fans
  5. Possibly Bogaerts but it's a long shot. Salty could transition there as well
  6. How bout Brad Mills? Can't go on how he did in Houston cause well..It's Houston
  7. I'm curious to see how much of Iggy we will see the remainder of the season. Hopefully he gets a good amount of playing time. I like Aviles don't get me wrong, but how much of a future does he really have with this club?
  8. Couldn't agree more! Give the kids some experience against the best. I would of had Xander somewhere in the mix of that comment, but I agree completely. I mean we don't build up the farm system to watch them enter as 26 year olds with a good 4-5 years left before they start to decline.
  9. He definitely would lose value if he moved to first, but that's a long shot at this point. IMO I don't think he would lose alot of value if he ended up in the OF, but a power hitting SS is hard to come by these days, so SS would keep his value the highest
  10. I didnt say I was willing to give him 7 or above AAV. I think he'd be a solid pickup for 5/30. Anything more and I wouldn't consider it
  11. I'd love to see him stick it out at SS. I'm way higher on him than Iggy. Yes Iggy has the glove but I'll take a bat over a glove any day. It's like you said its not like he's horrible so why not dangle Iggy out there?
  12. I don't see what 40 more ABs in the minors will do. It's obviously the rebuilding stage right now. If we didn't get rid of all those players I wouldn't even think about starting him next season with Boston. It would make sense for him to mature with Boston as they continue to rebuild
  13. When are people like you going to stop looking at a players age to determine when they play in the bigs? He's shown that he has the work ethic along with the raw potential power to be a 30 home run a year guy eventually. I'm sorry that I want to see the kid so soon I guess? He's as confident a prospect as I've ever seen. He doesn't need to be babied and brought up slowly. I dont want him coming up as a 23 year old when we could see him as a 20 year old. The best experience a prospect can get is right in Boston not Portland
  14. Aaron Kurcz could see some time in the bullpen next season as well. He's had a very good season in Portland
  15. Absolutely! Greinke and Shields would be two nice pickups. Who knows what the rays will be doing with the option though
  16. Not to mention this all happened in Kansas City HAH! If you're gonna have anxiety issues it should at least be in a big market. I wouldn't make a huge deal of it anymore though. He was young and he's a decent career since then. He isn't the solution though, or at least he's not the one piece we need
  17. They'd consider it if he promised foot massages. Big guy with a foot fetish go figure
  18. Screw Mike Maddux bring in his brother he only won about another 270 games or something.. Not but really I wouldn't mind Mike Maddux or John Farrell. You know damn well he doesn't want to be in Canada anymore
  19. C - Salty 1b - Loney, Gomez 2b - Pedroia 3b - Middlebrooks SS - Iglesias LF - Bogaerts/Kalish CF - Ellsbury RF - Ross/ Bradley DH - Ortiz Yes, I do indeed have Bogaerts in LF. Anything to get this kids bat up here
  20. We need somebody with ties to Qatar oil as an owner.. Then we'd be in business
  21. So John Henry is going to dedicate all his time to Liverpool football now
  22. 3B? I don't really see that with Middlebrooks there in the future. As of now they do have the space for him in OF, so it's definitely a strong possibility and probably the most likely destination for him. I agree that he could play SS at the major league level. Iggy deserves a chance though at the major league level. If he doesn't pan out there then we know where we stand. Then it's pretty much Xanders position unless he shows he can't cover the ground
  23. With everyone saying he'll be switched to another position, what about 1B? It can be done if he dedicates himself to learning the trade. He's a legit 6'3 so he has the height/wingspan to play there. Just an idea maybe to ponder on, but when it's all said and done I see him in LF as well. Bradley will either be RF or CF depending on what happens with Ellsbury
  24. With all that has happened in the past 12 hours or so with trade talks it made think of what it all means for top prospect Xander Bogaerts. Question is when he will finally see Fenway?
