  1. I was thinking he'd start collecting pigeons and he would take them to Broadway and make a musical out of it. *Life after retirement: The Roger Clemens Way*
  2. How about Jackie Bradley in LF. It's a rebuilding stage. Let the team grow as the prospects grow. We'll be thankful down the road
  3. Barnes is only in high- A ball right now and he's doing okay. I wouldn't expect to see him until 2014 at the earliest. Only legit prospects we have a chance of seeing next year are Bradley and Bogaerts. Barnes needs to at least get some innings in with Portland before we can even talk about him in the rotation or pen. It's highly unlikely he'll be with boston next year
  4. I'm a bit concerned he has definitely cooled down quite a bit. 3Ks tonight, but still over .300 at .328. I just wanna see him keep it rolling cause theres a legit chance he could see action with Boston next year
  5. If they can get Lincecum for something relatively cheap i'd pull the trigger. He is having a horrible year yes, but not many players in the AL east have seen him. These are the best of the best it's their job to figure/work out the kinks. I think he'll come back and be a very productive pitcher next season whether it's with us, SF or elsewhere
  6. I counted only once maybe twice towards the very last days of his career. It sucks though cause he was already a phenomenal player before PEDs came in to the picture. He would of been a HOF without the PED. FYI i'm going on the assumption he didn't use them in Cleveland or the very first couple years in Boston. I mean he was a stick when he was in cleveland he couldn't have been over 200lbs or at least not by much, but I remember one spring training he came in ripped wearing a tank and I thought uh-oh roids? Whatever the case may be he was a great player with or without the PEDs. He was also one hell of a character. I wish baseball had more players with his type of personality
  7. I'd give a look to Lincecum just cause of the fact not many players in the AL east have seen his stuff. I don't exactly know what his deal is, but he has for sure lost a TON of velocity. Liriano is a risky player (injuries), but if we could get him for cheap then i'd like that. Peavy hasn't be San Diego Peavy since, well since he left. However, he should be the number one target. 1. Peavy 2. Lincecum 3. Liriano/Haren. IMO
  8. I partially blame myself for the thread continuing. I was just determined to make my point that we will not see that kid in a sox uniform
  9. People expected Gonzo to be "Manny-Like" the big power bat. Manny had a way of tuning out people/ media Gonzo didn't have that ability IMO he couldn't hack it... Or maybe Manny just had no clue what was going on at all times :dunno:
  10. Locked up until 2018. He is going nowhere
  11. I could live with that
  12. Maybe we should just dig up Cy Young while we're at it
  13. Alright you're obviously entitled to your opinion. I'm just on the other end of this though. Can't see it happening
  14. Yeah no kidding Bogaerts is untouchable, but that doesn't mean they're gonna forget about him in the deal. With the ways things our now Bogaerts could be mid to late 2013
  15. Ciriaco shouldn't hold anyone back either. Not very high on 26 year old rookies
  16. Yeah it'd be nice I'm just saying its not happening through a trade. Our best chance is landing him once he hits the market. That's not likely to happen either though
  17. I've yet to see you mention Bogaerts in your offers... What is Iglesias to them?
  18. Yeah we'd to throw in half our system to get him. Bogaerts - untouchable, Bradley? Not quite untouchable but it's risky he shows great upside. The Mariners are on the upstart right now. The fans are backing the team way more than in previous seasons. There attendance is up and Felix is the centerpiece for their revival. There isn't really a clear cut deal that we could offer that would get them highly interested without including Bogaerts or Ellsbury. With the cap space we have I'd bet anything we're resigning Ellsbury. The best chance we have of landing Felix is saving cap a year down the road when he's a FA. Rest assured the Mariners will give the key to the city before they let him walk for nothing on the market. Be happy with De La Rosa cause Felix is so much of a stretch at this point it's ridiculous
  19. Dude this is the most far fetched thread i've seen... The players/prospects you included wouldn't even be enough. The Mariners would want Barnes/ Bradley and Bogaerts probably and that's just the prospects. I want Felix too, but it's not gonna happen through a trade like this
  20. I thought he was a FA this season, but it turns out its just BJ :thumbdown .. I'd think twice about signing another former ray..
  21. I actually like the sound of that. Upton is a great great player just having a down year. He could break out and have an amazing season for all we know. If they can get him for reasonable $$$ I'd be all for it. I've given up on Kalish though with Bradley and Bogaerts (most likely future OF) in the system
  22. There's a lot of decent middle of the rotation guys available. I can't see them doing nothing
  23. If he was 3 or 4 years younger I'd be more excited about his future here. He's too late of a bloomer for me personally. That's just me though
  24. I can't get excited about Ciriaco. He's never gonna amount to much IMO. Until I see Xanders position changed to LF I'll still look at that SS position as his very soon
  25. Travis Hafner * Aubrey Huff * Adam LaRoche * Carlos Lee James Loney Ty Wigginton * * option 2013 That's all there is... Depressing
