Looking at it now Mauer did the best he can framing those Ks to Pedroia & Els. He really caught them with the edge of his glove. I read this piece not to long ago about how Jose Molina can noticeably enlarge the strike zone, Mauer can do it too. On the other hand Salty...

I would much rather see them pitch like they do in Japan. The game is slow enough as it is. If a pitcher can't handle an error it's his fault, it's a mental game too.

He should throw that curve more. Along with Miller's Slider it's been the best pitch of this staff in 2012.

Again great situational hitting by the sox. When a runner get's to third with less then two outs he scores 50% of the time, I bet that with the sox this number drops to around the 15%.
