  1. I am extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-mely hopeful that we obtain Mr. Roy O. Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase work out lol.
  2. omg what a tease this was A+ yet...terrible all at once.
  3. So I apologize for my prior 2 posts...I used the incorrect term "Monument" and was at a loss for the correct term, which in this case would be "Landmark". Apparently Fenway Park is "very close" to officially being considered a historical landmark of Boston. Once that happens (which is confirmed as inevitable, and soon-to-be), not only will it stay where it is, but even minor renovations will be a long drawn-out process that would have to be approved by up-tight dudes in suits n' ties and liberal hippy-douches', etc Like it or disagree with it, you know the rest... Go Red Sox!
  4. That really depends on how you look at it. It is a matter of being subjective, I guess. Same goes for any historical monument, like the library for example...They aren't worried about the real-estate re-sale value, as much as they are concerned about ensuring they preserve the monument and ensure that it is not leveled or re-vamped by some money-bags cats with no clue what it means to the city. I really can't believe so many people in this thread are 'for' tearing down Fenway Park and building a state of the art place, or even 'for' renovating Fenway Park at all. I understand the argument(s) to a point - but yeah, no. I wouldn't ever agree with them.
  5. Oh...Well that certainly conflicts with what the Fenway Park tour guide told us during our tour, May 30, 2011. They told us that as of the end of 2011, the park is to be considered a registered historical monument of Boston and that it could not be touched. There were even strict stipulations regarding any sort of renovations - which is why they hustled to quickly get the new monster seats in, and looked to complete any fine tuning before they would no longer be able to. The tour guide seemed pretty certain that this was the case. :dunno:
  6. I am confused regarding this topic - as I was under the impression that Fenway Park is now considered a historical monument of Boston, and can therefore not be modified let alone leveled to build a new stadium. What's the deal (Please forgive my possible ignorance here)
  7. My best advice would be... - Bring an empty vile, go early to the game for batting practice...Stand by the home-plate area and ask someone who has field-access to please fill your vile up with dirt from the field. (I did this, and it is extremely awesome to have dirt from home plate at Fenway Park). You can ask your tour-guide, but mine said no - FYI anyone who works at Fenway will most likely say no, so ask someone who looks like a fan who has field access for batting practice. - Go visit the library...Amazing building filled with awesome history, just to say you were there is worth it. Also, Good Will Hunting filmed a scene there...A+ - Boston Harbor is beautiful/gorgeous/solid - worth taking 30 mins to walk around there - Go to the Fenway Park tour / Visit the official Boston Red Sox store on Yawkee Way - Go to the Cheers bars - not impressive, but it's nice to say you've been there - not a drag by any means. - Downtown has some nice shops including a pretty good size 4ish floor Nike Store - Have fun - Take it all in - Be proud you rep the best team in organized sports, and that you are part of the best fan-family-mob ever...slap hands with some fans at the game. - Order one of those Lemon/Ice drinks when you're at your seat during the game when the drink-man comes by - If you order peanuts, they throw them at you and then come collect the money, so don't duck and let them hit the lady behind you, catch that s***! Word - all I can think of for now Hope you have the time of your life - Guarantee you will go back annually
  8. Word, Thanks!
  9. Unreal. Thanks brother.
  10. Well said. I completely agree here.
  11. Awesome! Thanks guys, Word
  12. Yeah, I am not sure whether or not this has been validated or confirmed to be true in terms of whether the Red Sox are even interested in the idea and on how serious of a scale etc. I have only seen this specific article on the topic and was wondering if I missed the memo and if you guys knew anything further...
  13. I am not allowed to post links yet as I am a newb to the forum... sited from sportsnet.ca Thoughts?
  14. Stoked to find this Board/Forum. Excited for a new season, and another trip to Boston. Anyone else here from Canada? I am from Niagara Falls. Yo!
  15. I would care to retain Josh if he was more classy. Great pitcher but somewhat of a big baby. Always rubbed me the wrong way - Wish he had a better attitude and smaller ego. Rather him pitch for us than against us though I guess...I am on the fence with this guy.
