  1. Good luck. I am going to Boston for the Balto Games in June...Hotels in downtown Boston were upwards of $500.00+ per night everywhere on the days I am there. I was able to book the Howard Johnson across the street from Fenway Park this year (terrible old shady run down place) for $290.00/night - otherwise, the closest under $300.00 was 10km away in Sommerville lol, or that shady Ramada like 10km away for 200$-ish If you're cool with staying 12+km away from downtown, you can score a decent place for a more reasonable rate ($150 range) - but that's if you're cool with having to take the subway back and forth from your hotel to downtown. Edit to add... I love Houston, I have a tattoo of Houston/Texas - My cats name is Houston...The Woodlands are gorgeous. I was treated amazing aside from people who hate the Boston Red Sox Where are you from? Dallas? (*spit*) lol
  2. As long as you're respectful, you have nothing to fear at Fenway park while wearing Texas Rangers gear. It would be a different story if you were begging to get beat up, though. PS. Cowboys fans are not safe at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, NY. I urge you to bring a few 250+lb friends who can throw'em if you plan on going there in Dallas gear Edit to add...I was surprised at how close I was to being beat-up just for wearing a Boston Red Sox hat when I visited my best friend in the Woodlands (Houston). lol. Took a fair amount of abuse in the week that I was there for that.
  3. My vote goes to Pitboss 2000 - Yankees suck :harhar:
  4. "I don't know what Bobby's trying to do, but that's not the way we do things here," said Pedroia. "Maybe that stuff works in Japan." I missed what context this was in, or what it was in reference to... What's the deal here?
  5. I wouldn't be upset if Luke Scott took a 98mph Bard fastball in the ribs today.
  6. Stoked with the last 2 games offensively. We can win games when we score 5+ runs and play with leads. Would be nice to take 3/4 or even sweep the Rays. Everyone is settling in and it shows potential the team has with the current roster. We aren't great by any means, but we can hold our own and grind out some wins this year for sure.
  7. For right now, the only difference between Cody Ross playing CF in place of Jacoby that I anticipate is obviously offensive. Cody can cover the ground in CF and make plays, he could possibly even have a better arm than Ells. I agree that Sweeney should be leadoff hitter opposed to Aviles. I don't mind our current OF - not like we have a choice at the moment.
  8. I watched the video start to finish...I can see it being a song that could appeal to some people, just not a fan of that sound/style personally. Also, confused me a bit...There's 1 guy lip-sinking out of sync to the vocals in the song, and it shows the same guy playing air guitar and punching air and playing air piano instead of showing him play those instruments, or the respective person playing those instruments. Auto-tune isn't something I enjoy on vocals... Finally, the chorus and the name of the song is "win one for the Red Sox"... but the Red Sox are really the only ones who can "Win", and they ARE the Red Sox...So, who is "win one for the Red Sox" referring to? me? Joe-Blow? Who is going to Win one for the Red Sox? I don't get it, but - yeah - Go Red Sox I guess.
  9. Stoked on today minus Ells injury. Let's do it again tomorrow.
  10. I say Jacoby has a 3 hit game cashing in some RBI's and that he gets his first SB. Papi/Ross get their first HR's...and that we come out on top to snag the win. I also have a feeling that Salty or Youk may hit a HR, but that could be a stretch. Here's hoping.
  11. Too Long; Didn't Read. Just kidding...Some good points made. While 'adjusting our expectations' according to our current line-up having more/wider flaws sounds logical, it could be be a bad thing too. Next thing you know, we are one of those teams that expect to suck and are o.k. with it based on lowered expectations. I hear you on the "where's the accountability" for the slow start, given the way the season ended last year and the recent changes that followed. We hoped that those things would cause us to start differently, but are seeing that wasn't/isn't the case. All that aside, given our current pitching situation, and how tough our division is this year...We need to have an offense that produces 5-10+runs on average per game in order to have a chance at making the playoffs (imho). The good news is that this whole thing of 'not being able to turn on a switch to win at will', could/should (hopefully) cause us to have to play with heart and to not have some sort of holier than thou attitude given our payroll/big name. Time will tell, good post.
  12. good tags there - not terrible, boys - could be worse. Let's do something here
  13. One of us is going to have a stoke because of the Red Sox and they way they do this to us
  14. please no double play please no double play

  16. Lester is lights-out today - We need to show him some love for that and come back to win this with bats/runs
  17. Yes sir! Ells, great job buddy
  18. Right? Need to score runs this inning. No more stranding guys until the 8th/9th
  19. Romero looks like LL-Cool-J, if LL didn't work out for 3 years and ate McD's like supersize me
