  1. From you? lol.
  2. Four days left.
  3. The Red Sox have a very good team. There's simply no disputing that. They'll need a couple things to go their way ,(who doesn't) but this is a team that could go all the way.
  4. He pitched on Wednesday. Reports say that the reason he hasn't pitched in ML games is because they want to put him on the DL taking advantage of retroactive days. In that case, how serious can it be?
  5. That's a good point, but by that time, we will be able to judge, if they make any major acquisitions, whether or not they overpaid. There is a set market value for a lot of these players.
  6. Because you were wrong, you still are, as shown by the above post, yet refuse to admit it. As for Bailey, he pitched to minor leaguers a couple days ago. They're just being cautious with him.
  7. You and MVP are my favorite posters here.
  8. So overpaying for more players is the answer? You either keep overpaying, or you stop. They are trying to stop, yet people still complain.
  9. It's good ammo.
  10. Aceves is in the bullpen. They're keeping Bard in the rotation, because they think he's too good to be a set-up man. THEY ARE THINKING ABOUT THE LONG-TERM GOOD OF THE TEAM. Besides, Bailey has a thumb injury, not a UCL tear. Calm down.
  11. AFV last year was 92.7, topping out at 96. His velocity in spring is way down. Regarding Aceves.
  12. ^This. They were never expected to accept.
  13. Which was the point of contention of everyone here all along: They weren't going to show up. It was just a gentle push out the door from the FO, which Valentine acknowledged.
  14. Because f*** logic, that's why.
  15. For all intents and purposes, Bard's going to end up back in the BP as he approaches his innings limit anyway.
  16. Aceves pitched the most innings out of anyone in that bullpen. The point is, that with the returning cast, Melancon (who hasn't looked good) and Bailey (who has a minor thumb injury, call the ICU unit) don't have to be lights-out to keep the bullpen respectable. Also, i bet you would have complained if they kept Papelbon at that money if he reverted to 2010 form. It's just a lose-lose proposition.
  17. Fred, did you ever consider the fact that maybe, just maybe, Bailey's thumb issue is a minor thing that happened during camp?
