  1. Hanram is not a player I like on this team. When he gets hot he's great, but overall not even close to what he should be.....I guess were stuck with him for now..
  2. I don't blame the pitcher, the manager and management should know better than to put him out there. He's lost it. Put Eck out there or something lol...
  3. Yup. We all knew this was coming,,,,
  4. Clay pitching is like being down $1000 in a blackjack game and you hit the atm again just hoping your luck will change.
  5. Now we got another former top prospect Devin M..... in the game. We got the closer in for the 3rd game in a row in a tied game.
  6. Nice move Farrell. The kid had no chance. Weak...
  7. Don't want to lose this game. Awesome pitched game by Wright. 0 earned runs....
  8. Any moves to upgrade is a plus. Unless the sky falls in, I'm sure moves will be made. Trading someone who you know who he is, is easy, trading young talent that may be stars some day is hard. Bottom line is if you feel you have a team that can make a run at it, you have to pull the trigger on a trade to give you a chance. It may not come around next year. I wouldn't make such a deal unless I felt the team had a shot at the prize, or the pliers were trading for will be part of the future. Bagwell for Anderson just to try to make the playoffs was stupid. That team had no shot a making a deep run. Never bought into it. Like trading Moncada for Bartolo Colon.
  9. Money aside, how soon we forget how we could have resigned Lester. This guy was our horse and innings eater. But he was over thirty. Guys like him are few and far between, so when he walks, you better have kids coming up to replace him. Now we may have to send some awesome prospects out to get a pitcher like him. No wonder were in a roller coaster ride. DD wasn't part of that brainy move.
  10. If we don't get our act together, we'll be 5 games behind the Jays. It will happen that fast. If we are going to make some moves, lets get after it.
  11. Here we go.... Barnes, another stud arm that can't figure it out. Whats with these pitchers that were suppose to be our future.. For everyone that produces, 8 suck.
  12. Team not playing with that swagger that it was. We got 162 games in a season. Now were really gonna see what were made of over the next couple of weeks. Bottom of the rotation sucks and the bats seem to be taking a few nights off. This game drives you batty..
  13. Back in the mid 60's, as a kid my cousin was a bat boy for the Pittsfield Red Sox. Talk about not knowing who I was hanging with. Many days I would go to the park all times of the day with him and just hang out. I can remember sitting in the dugout, playing catch, and shagging flies. I even had to run errands for some of the players. Almost every day Hey kid here, run over to the store and get some of that penny candy. lol.. Some of the players were Pudge Fisk, Reggie Smith ( mean sob), Bill Lee, George Scott, Bob Montgomery, Carmon Fanzone, Kemmer Brett, Rick Miller, Eddie Poplowski Mgr. , Great memories, and most of these guys were great down to earth dudes.
  14. You said that your more concerned with Shaw than Hanram. I love Shaws swing and he's young. Your right, jury is still out. If Hanram puts a full year together with decent stats, I'll be happy, but so far, he still hasn't earned his keep. I hope he does, but I am more cautious with him than a kid who up until a week ago was raking. I guess just our opinions, but for sure, pitching is what we need. It's fun speculating what will happen. It's all good.....
  15. Watching the game, Dombrowski and Henry look like they are having some serious talks. Maybe we can get Lester back..lol
  16. I think you are off base on Shaw. No guarantee he's a Donaldson, but way too soon to label him. He has a nice swing and should figure it out. We have a real good starting lineup, although an upgrade in left would be nice. One more solid horse who can eat up innings and another solid arm in the bullpen is what we need right now. Things change so much day to day so I guess as long as we stay close, it give Dombrowski time to hone in on what would be the best moves. For sure, you can never have enough pitching. Too bad Castillo hasn't lived up to his billing. Talk about frosting on the cake with Betts and JBJ....
  17. Most suprising was the thread. The numbers Papi has put up to me is the most surprising by far. At best, going in I would have him at 10 homers 38 Rbi's and hitting around .300. Hats off to the other players, but take his stats out of the lineup and were screwed. Bogie hitting for average and his defense is great. Bradley has cranked it up along with Wright. But Ortiz has everyone in awe. How do you replace that????
  18. Water always seeks it's own level. Have a feeling Dom.. is sitting right now just waiting for his chance to pounce on a move. Be assured, he will make a couple of big moves. If you are in a position to contend for post season, run with it. Sometimes holding onto the future never works out. If you really think your team has a shot at the prize, go for it. I hope we can keep things going and shore up some holes. Still early, but right now, we have a lot going for us. We need a solid starter, bullpen ace, and one more bat. I don't trust Hanram....
  19. Nice call, we can run all over this team and Farrell has him bunt. Nice, right into a dp... Fm
  20. I'm very excited about drafting Groome. Getting him at 12 when he was projected 1 to 3. Time will tell, but in a couple years he could be a number one work horse. Still need to sign him.
  21. Lets send Clay to them for Ventura. I'll take my chances. An attitude can be adjusted. Change of scenery for both pitchers, could work out sweet for us, just saying
  22. If he can be had cheap, bring him in. Have Papi take him under his wing, who knows. If he doesn't pan out, so be it. He may come in with a chip on his shoulder with something to prove.
  23. The pitching coach doesn't impress me at all. Pede picked up on some flaws with Price which seemed to help. We seem to have some real live arms that can't get over the hump. Maybe there is a lot going on behind the scenes, but I'm sick of seeing the manager and the pitching coach sitting together and gazing out at the pitchers. Duh, what do you think. I'll go talk to him... Anyways, I have faith Dombrowski has something up his sleeve to shore up the staff so that we can have a shot at the prize.
  24. It sure is. Don't kid yourself, this rotation won't cut it. If our eye is on the prize this year, it's going to cost us at least one or two impact prospects to bring in a difference maker. No John Lesters under every tree ???/
  25. Tek was the captain, leader, tough as nails guy. I can't believe he didn't get into some faces and take care of business. I'm really disappointed in him. I don't care how they pull it off, Lackless has to go.
