  1. I don't know how many so called MLB pitchers are desperately trying to get to the off season to work on their s*** but there must be legions of them and Rick is definitely one of them. He really needs an off season. Its really the only shot he has to be anything MLB again.
  2. Atta' boy JD...would not want to distinguish yourself from the rest of this current crop of MLB knuckleheads except in how much they are paying you.
  3. Rick's breaking stuff is actually better than his FB....stunning on the face of it but unfortunately a quite accurate appraisal.
  4. That HR pitch has got Rick's doom written all over it. He just can't throw it any longer and I don't as yet know how he replaces it. He is just going to give up buckets of Porcellos with that thing.
  5. You know f*** face Arod already had his name inside that wall. So he has to go in and sign again....based on what? Just should have joined his broadcast mates in the wall to watch them sign. Then he sticks that stupid mug of his through the green monster for a photo op. Would have preferred a 2x4 op myself.
  6. For those watching, you need to switch to ESPN2 as the US Open has not as yet finished up. For those interested in a treat, pick up your audio from EEI as Sean McDonough is on the mike tonight. Porcello v Tanaka Beat the Yankmees!!! 1. DJ LeMahieu ® 3B 2. Aaron Judge ® RF 3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS 4. Gary Sanchez ® C 5. Edwin Encarnacion ® DH 6. Gleyber Torres ® 2B 7. Brett Gardner (L) CF 8. Luke Voit ® 1B 9. Mike Tauchman (L) LF 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 3. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 4. J.D. Martinez ® DH 5. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 6. Brock Holt (L) 2B 7. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 8. Sandy Leon (S) C 9. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF
  7. Oh now this is so special. ESPN has the Sunday night Yanks/Sox game but the US Open finals have not finished up yet. Hell of a partner you have there MLB.
  8. If you want to pull your hair out, Mets v Phillies are 3.5 Hours in and .........just started the bottom of the 7th in a 10-6 contest. Houston up on Mariners 21-1 and STILL GOING! But fear not MLB fans....as bad as it is getting in MLB at least we are not NASCAR......yet. A quick perusal of the vacancies at the NASCAR Brickyard 400 today would suggest they are expiring now, never mind a few years from now. PS. 6 minutes later in the Mets/Phillies still no outs recorded in the bottom of the 7th. The Energizer bunny got nuthin' on MLB. We just keep going and going and going.....

WHAT.... No interest in working toward the all Hernandez Red Sox!
  10. I did not like the way Cora rolled out the relievers early either. Weber particularly bothered me as he had given Cora two innings yesterday. Said it in the GT as soon as Weber came into the game. By the time Cora got back on any sort of reasonable track, it was too late. Damage done....game over. In addition, Cora is getting too many of his core relievers up every day now. He has buckets of arms but not buckets of good arms. The entire reason for having 21 pitchers is so you can save those that can actually pitch for when you need them. The rest you have to use where you can and take your chances. Today (Sunday) will be particularly interesting because anybody in that pen that can actually pitch has been up or in virtually every day for the last 5 days. Nice corner you and your ex-catcher pitching coach are boxing yourselves into there Alex. Then again since MLB saw fit to partner with ESPN, an idiot Network if there ever was one, I can probably count the people that will see the Sunday game on one hand since they are head up against Pats/Steelers. Smooth move MLB/ESPN.... real smooth. It will be me and four other nut cases watching this one.
  11. PAD THOSE STATS....PAD THOSE STATS.....PAD THOSE STATS. Gotta' figure the guys that did go to the WH learned some interesting chants while there.
  12. Betts covers ground and if he gets his glove on it he will catch it. But he gets hideous jumps playing CF. Knows it and he positions oddly trying to protect against it which does not help. So does Beni. But at least moving Beni to CF does not take one of the best if not the best RFer in baseball out of RF. The dif between Beni and Mookie in CF is not worth what we lose when Mookie is not patrolling the toughest RF in baseball....Fenway's. Let Beni flop around out there in CF if anything and get a serious bat to play LF or get a solid if not spectacular defensive CFer that is a more consistent threat at the plate than Jackie Bunny Jr.. I mean Jackie Bradley Jr.
  13. Just throw a bender....ANY bender or off speed. Does not even have to be a good one. Does not matter. As long as it is at the top of the knee or lower it will work. The contemporary hitter can't hit it, can't lay off it, can't even see it more often than not. Lucky to even foul it off normally. Generally speaking, the Contemporary Hitter is dreaming of 6 run HR's as he Bugs Bunny's at the passing baseball.
  14. With any luck it will be Joe, Angry Lou and Sean in the booth.
  15. I guess Sean McDonough will return to the EEI radio booth tomorrow. That makes for a real treat for those that have not heard Sean doing a Sox game lately. Well worth tuning in to EEI for the audio feed even if you are "OK" with whatever trash the Networks have going on. I am guessing Sean will do a few games in a row.
  16. Oh I will be watching baseball. But I cannot even take the NESN crew these days. So its always the EEI radio feed for audio for me now.
  17. Happ never gave in to the RH hitters and our RH hitters never adapted all day long.
  18. I will definitely be watching the Sunday game. Regrettably, I am also "stubborn as a mule". As usual if nobody starts one before game time I will start one...but not before. I am the emergency game thread starter.
  19. That pitch did not even deserve to be called a split. Got Voit...but my God.
  20. Here comes our pitching coach again...I guess to advise Vaz regarding the laces on his mitt.
  21. Oh Christ....puke head probably thinks this is a perfect time for him to be in the batter's box.
  22. Well I don't know if hobbled giraffe JD could have gotten there nor if he should have called off Holt. I do know that JD taking control of ANYTHING, any play at all in the field is an expectation that will not now or at any future date in his career be rewarded. He has become Mr "you got it....yea you take it".
  23. I just hope it won't cost the Pats that much and that whatever it costs them they can recover when (not if but when AB turns into a dick in our uni). The problem is he will not like it if he does not t think he is getting the ball enough and no matter how much Tom throws it to him, AB will not think its enough. Moss for the time he was here changed the character of the Pats, which is part of their secret sauce. Somehow they can't let AB do that same thing.
  24. I assume you mean stubborn as a mule and I agree!!!!!
  25. Even Judge took that sideways to the sun which is not the same thing as sideways to the ball in the air.
