  1. What did I say last night...Bring Atch to start clean innings.....not to get out of jams....stupid!!!!!
  2. Struggling like this against the AAA Twins is surely not what Buch expected to be doing. He just does not even look good at this weight. I know they figure last year's added weight contributed to his back issues but Geez....now that makes it seem like he is caught between the rock and a hard place.
  3. That is so not true!!!! McCarver reminisces about runs that scored 50 years ago while Buck cleans and assembles the same pistol over and over again begging God for the courage to use the thing.
  4. Bottom of the 6th...It feels like we musta' flipped the calendar into May by now. Freakin' disgrace of a major league game. Uncle Bud should send a letter of protest to the Twins for existing.
  5. Politically correct
  6. I doubt anybody does. Watching the Twins play regularly must be more than anybody could take. Geez Royals fans finally have somebody to look forward to on their schedule.
  7. Love Gardenhire's managerial pose. Looks like a guy pinned to a high voltage electrical fence. Come to think of it, that is what I would probably look like if I had to manage this team. What the hell did he do wrong in a previous life?
  8. Byrd gets traded in time for a Twins 3 game series. Must think he died and went to heaven....Field of Dreams stuff...."is this heaven"......No this is Minnesota....visiting teams just think its heaven.
  9. Their Chicago customer base must be off the charts
  10. Bruins gonna' need some of that 3rd period magic. Thomas has let in way to many goals that have to be stopped for a team to have a shot at the cup.....another one he should have gotten tonight.
  11. Byrd actually looks graceful out there....even at 34....Meanwhile Geez Youk what an at bat.
  12. Lester's may be better than Beckett's but Beckett uses his way better than anybody else on the staff and it is probably close to Lester's. So close it might be debatable whether Lester's is that much better. The cutter is a very difficult pitch to hit if you have the right complimentary pitches and you know how to use it. I think Beckett is more successful using his cutter than any of the other Sox starters.
  13. Geez Clay why don't ya' just place it on the guys bat? Beckett is the only guy on this team with a really good cutter so I don't know why the rest of them are so darned cutter happy.
  14. They don't seem to have much pitching of any kind. No wonder the place is so quiet. Imagine 140 or so more games as a Twins fan watching these guys? Brutal.
  15. V might be trying to give Youk some encouragement and also see if he can get him going. This is probably as good as spot as V will see to do something like this at least for the next few games. By the end of this season we very well might see the Twins vying for the basement. They are in the bottom half of the bottom half of teams in the AL. So this might be a good spot to try to give Youk some encouragement. We should win this game tonight without to much difficulty and sweep the Twins.
  16. Staggering the difference between pro athletes in all sports when I was growing up (59 now) and guys today. However that probably was not always the best thing. When you see how long it takes for guys to recover from concussion, now that the medical community knows what to look for, God only knows how much additional damage those guys did to themselves. Really the same is true at all levels. I know there were football games I continued to play in when I was just plane gonzo. Hard to even understand how the pros continued to play at such a high level under the circumstances.
  17. I don't know what to think about the ESPN %'s. I have said in several threads though that I do think the gap between the haves and the have nots is going to be even wider this year than we have seen it in other years. There are in my opinion a few more haves than we have seen in other years as well. The Sox are clearly one of the group of haves. The question for the Sox will be winning enough games to keep up. I think some of the records we are going to see by year end are going to be staggeringly bad for some of these teams because they are going to have such a hard time competing with the better teams especially in the AL.
  18. Oh my God....Albers escapes!!!! and its a winning streak
  19. Give him about 5 minutes
  20. Fat Albers...one of our arsonists
  21. Not tellin' us if anybody is up. Wonder if V is going to let Atch go the rest
  22. We might have a key here for how to use Atch. Shame if he can't really come in with a jam to take care of but if he can pitch like this and eat relief innings heck I will take anything at this point.
  23. Gee to bad.....f***ing EEI the other day was replaying Serling play by play calls from "that" Saturday constantly. Nearly drove off the road.
  24. V "unloading the bench" according to Don...I guess that means two guys come in. Don and Jerry are priceless.
  25. Rousing return for Punto...most noise outta' that crowd in two nights
