I can never get over Ayala's delivery. I would likely be stuck up there at home mesmerized by his delivery while the ball went past me.

I get gammons point but I think pitching like he was he could have gotten that part of the O's lineup. I would have given him one more inning myself but I guess that is V.

We have not won yet....I am very happy for WMB...what I want is for this dead between the ears FO to take note cause we still need a more cohesive effort and I have a suspicion that they had a more cohesive team playing in Pawtucket than the one we have here. Sorry I just have a hard time getting "excited" over having to sit Hunter....Hunter of all people for 35 minutes before we could finally make a dent in him.

The O's are neither as good as they have looked nor are the Sox as bad as they have looked but clearly the O's are getting better and across the staff much better starting pitching and even with whacky running and fielding errors playing better baseball than the Sox are playing....remarkable even when you watch every inning of every game. I would get Salty out of there right away...you have to start somewhere and Salty is just so debilitating to this team. He is a murderously bad catcher and he can't hit....can't....stop looking at this occasional HR's and hoping something is suddenly better....he sucks at the plate and I don't have a word for Salty in the field....there is probably something in the French language for Salty in the field cause they are good at that sort of thing.

Pedey has been so desperate for a ball on the inner third where he could handle it...that is why he swung at that...but this is also what starts to happen when guys start to press....even Pedey

This is the difference between bad pitching and horrible pitching. If you let professional baseball hitters get up on you, they will start to look like Prince 1 through 9 in the batting order. Even decent pitching controls that....piss poor pitching does not. As for why the Sox might be worse...well there is the obvious....they have 2 subs in the outfield. I won't consider WMB a sub because I just don't think Youk is going to come back. Beyond that though they are still playing like 9 individual guys...no smarts at the plate except for Pedey...maybe now AGons is starting to be more patient at the plate....Ortiz is starting to take to much of this on his shoulders and has started to swing at some bad pitches on the other side of the equation. You had to know Ross was not going to continue like he was and with the injuries is obvious issues against RH pitchers are just right there to see and he basically is a panic in the Outfield. The bullpen has clearly been worse although coming around. On balance I am not sure you could say the SP has been better as a group although the lapses are in places we really thought would be critical. Now the SP 1,2 and 3 is even getting bad enough to disappoint me....Mr Was not Expecting Much to Begin With..... I would say that even as bad as the bull pen has been the Starting Pitching and the lack of a cohesive offensive effort is killing them.

And this is another aspect to the Sox that sort of lulls you to sleep....they have given up 2 runs in three innings. Well by the end of the game just that is 6 runs and you have to score 7 to win. Is this an O's explosion of runs...we haven't had that yet. If you cannot pitch better you have to match the other team's scoring and putzing around with a guy like Hunter is ridiculous.

NESN takes its lead from the Sox....up in the strike zone all day.

And this is where CC will be under tremendous pressure when he comes back. Do you really think one player, Ells coming back changes this much momentum going the wrong way? if you have two guys coming back turning outs into hits now maybe ya' got somethin....that is if they are not out by double digits in the loss column by the time they get back. And then we get to see how CC responds to pressure this year....why am I not optimistic??? I can barely work my way to objective.

What kills me is that yes the O's are getting good pitching and on the rare occasion something approaching great pitching in this series but in the main they have just played better baseball and taken advantage of their opportunities. Even in the 3 error game, outside of those 3 errors they played better baseball while we just stumbled through nine innings of futility.

What...are you arguing with their process...they need those early at bats....so they can figure out that once again their crap won't fly. That way they can have the last four innings of the game to catch up. I am so sick of their s*** I could explode!
