  1. Could Lavs possibly be worse that Salty behind the plate. I actually do not think that is possible.
  2. They did not lose this game in the bull pen. They did not lose any of the Oriole games from the bull pen. They do need better starting pitching but the disappointments are not down there in the 4 and 5 hole. They are in the 1 and 3 hole and dice is not going to come back and fix those problems. Of course we might know more about what Cook has got if hurricane Salty did not torch him on his way through town. But even if Cook has got something to offer is he a 1, 2 or a 3? If they do not immediately shelve Salty for Lavs I refuse to have any hope that they will figure anything out at this point. If they do not switch Agons and Pedey in the lineup I will refuse to have any hope that they will figure anything out because these are no longer iffy kinds of "gee this may work out if we give it more time" situations. They are glaringly obvious necessities. Salty is killing this team and AGons is killing Pedey.
  3. At the time I thought Miller should have gone one more inning and I still think he should have. While that is a small thing that is the spot where V could have set up to manage the time better for the rest of the relief guys. They had the bottom of the O's order coming up and Miller feelin' it. Thought he should have gotten one more inning there. As I said earlier the Sox lost this game every which way but poor relief performances. Sloppy stupid hitting from some in the line up...some of the other guys starting to take to much burden on themselves which is certainly at least understandable....more incredibly poor catching from Salty and bad situational baseball by the coaching staff in general. The only guy I could look at today and say he was just the wrong guy in the wrong place is Ross. He is stuck in the line up against RH pitchers and he has no business being there. What is happening to him now was bound to happen. That was only a matter of time. Agons and Pedey need to be switched in the line up immediately. If V does not see that by now I don't know what the hell he is looking at and frankly if I could drop AGons out of the middle of the order entirely I probably would but we can't. However he has to go to 3rd with Pedey batting 4th.
  4. And you get a vacuum for an infield without having to pay for it in the offense. Really really worried about AGons but still how can they not be better off. I think it will be more of a "give up" move on this season to keep it the way it is than to bring up the kids and set up the way we are suggesting.
  5. The only bright spot I think is that they are going on the road...they have been a complete choke at home. I had hoped that last road trip would be a springboard but it was not. To many parts of this team are just total FAIL. Hope for better against KC. Have to admit..totally done with AGons. Some guys on this team should be wearing a dunce cap....AGons should just have four white feathers in his cap...or for those that might miss that one....he should stick a white flag in his belt.
  6. I don't like the complete surrender in the guy. He swung at those 3 first pitches thrown to him in 3 of the last 4 at bats today and none of those were even the outer half first pitches he sometimes goes for trying to wall ball...they were just pitches and then he just completely gave up in that last at bat against Davis. Where do you think a swing like that comes from...do you actually think the hitter is focused on what he is doing when a 1st basemen throws meat up to home plate and that is the swing you take for strike 3! No way folks...if you want to make excuses for that s***...go ahead. In truth there are no excuses. He is a professional ball player or is supposed to be...the money is already in his pocket and he just gives up...Oh wait...God must have told him it was futile today. Agons knew he should have just stayed in bed today and frankly I wish he had.
  7. I am tellin' ya' they have to bring up the kids...just to play respectably...they are just a mess. Now if you noticed couple days ago...Ortiz starting trying to take to much of this on his shoulders...Pedey has started to take to much of it on his shoulders...the whole thing is about to fall completely apart if this is not already completely apart...we should note that this has been with good bull pen performances. I don't know what to say about Agons...there is something wrong with this guy....nobody is going to admit it but I am going to say it...all you had to do is look at Pedey at the end of this game and Agons...AGons just throws in the towel.....the 3 at bats before the last one he swung at every first pitch thrown to him...three at bats in a row and then just gave up against Davis...literally just gave up.
  8. By the way..i really don't think Buch had a thing to complain about today. We are usually really tough on the home plate umps and pick up right away when they are inconsistent...this guy was very consistent...you really did not hear a peep out of us all day and that has been really rare here. Buch needs to look in the mirror. I like him and would wish better for him but this mess today has nothing to do with the home plate ump
  9. I am not going anywhere I suspect most of us won't be either...problem is, the Sox are not going anywhere like this V looks so utterly done in his presser.....says Adrian wanted to pitch...who gives a damn...Adrian we got you to hit...try hitting Adrian.
  10. No I would have given Sweeney the chance to bat...he was hot as hell and LH hitter against RH first baseman and the play at the plate was not even close by the way...Weiters was waiting there with the ball for Byrd.
  11. I think they are chanting Adrian ...adrian now
  12. Look at this at bat...you mean to tell me it did not make sense to let Sweeney who is hot as hell hit LH hitter against RH 1st basemen in the last inning when it would have won us the game? so now lets see if they can get four runs and make up for that bit of stupidity
  13. the Sox do not deserve to win but in reality if they lose they will have lost because of everything about it that sucks...that is not related to the bullpen....and the cherry on top...they don't end up giving Sweeney a chance to bat...LH hitter against RH 1st baseman/pitcher leaving us d-mac on the mound I am actually getting to the point where if the FO is not going to smarten up and if the team is not going to smarten up...send them to the basement and see if that is enough inducement...Oh but wait....they are already in the basement.....never mind
  14. Even a blind pig finds a turnip now and again
  15. And now with that...we have d-mac on the mound...a little patience might have given us Sweeney against their 1st baseman
  16. Well I wish I was in the Park to see if sending him really made sense. Ya' got the other team's first baseman pitching...RH against Sweeney coming up.... Byrd was out by a mile
  17. C'mon Mike you are supposed to be a professional hitter...this guy is not even a pitcher..
  18. The thing is...you really can't look at injury as the rational for AGons to be batting ahead of Pedey in this lineup. It is honestly just dumb. ML baseball teams are not that stupid. They see the flaw and are just pitching around Pedey to get to AGons.
  19. Geez I don't want to jinx him but it has been at least three innings since Salty did something completely stupid...he is due
  20. Thing is he is not even trying to put a power stroke on the ball...at some point having him in the 4 hole is just completely ridiculous...hell lets put Sweeney there...how about d-mac....what the hell does it matter. At best Agons has the swing of a guy you have in front of your 4 not being your 4
  21. I have so had it with Agons..... Have tried to give him a break...do think he is getting his wall swing back but he keeps swinging now at anything that looks like a strike early in counts and I cannot take that. Now it is not like he is trying to pick a ball on the outside corner early in the count to wall ball...now he is swinging at just about anything
  22. Once Aceves got his act together...the pen really stabilized I think. It is not a great pen but coming from where they were...hard to complain and very hard to call them the weakness of this team.
  23. Pedey just stands head and shoulders above the rest of the guys on this team...I can't imagine what this team would be without him. That probably looked like a nothing play but he did not put the ball close to where it needed to be...he put the ball exactly where it made that DP easiest for Aviles to turn
  24. Pedey got one pitch to hit in that at bat and he missed it. Pitchers are making life miserable for him. I think V has got to change the line up. It just does not work to have AGons in the 4 hole. Even if AGons hits it probably does not work
