  1. Nice job by Doubront and Padilla and Middlebrooks joins Pedey and Ortiz thank God. We did not need those two guys starting to press trying to carry this team on their own.
  2. I don't think they can move Youk at this point. I think they should just hang onto him and work to see if something could be done but I would not try to push something if I were them....they won't get anything for him. At this point they should see if they could get Youk hitting again at least some. It would give them some offensive flexibility that might come in handy. I think that is all there is at this point.
  3. Reminds of that movie with Bill Macy where he plays this Las Vegas guy that the casino keeps around to cool off gamblers that get hot and start winning big...He just stands next to the guy who is winning all this money.....and....hot streak over....money reverses possession back to the house....world balance restored. That's Mc-dime
  4. I hate to say it but V did not deserve to get bailed out of that crap. Glad for the players, especially Felix. That is one time I would have just let the Boston media rip the Sox Manager to shreds and not felt one single bit of remorse.
  5. Look at felix on the bench....I am so pissed at V I could scream
  6. I do think the stiff ump picked a great time to start to squeeze felix also.
  7. V you are such a stiff....I just cannot believe that....if it is not the pitching failing it is the offense failing...if it is not the offense failing it is the defense failing and if all else does not fail....never fear...Bobby's here.
  8. What possible reason could he have had for not making the switch there. OK so you lose something defensively going into the later innings but you can't let an opportunity to score more runs go by when you are not yet ahead by more than 4 because you are worried about defense later...you just can't. I can maybe see it if you are up by 5 or more but not there. Now he is going get burned for it and I am not even sure he will learn from it. We will just end up with another of his "yea that was a mistake" press conferences.
  9. I just don't understand how professional baseball players....ML players for that matter can just trundle up to the plate like a couple of slugs and just FAIL completely. I know they are not million dollar babies but just make an effort please.
  10. Geez those at bats were just inexcusable. Good grief...awful by Byrd!
  11. OK now that was mean spirited:lol:
  12. Refreshing to see what young muscles can do. Sox FO take note of Mr Middlebrooks please.
  13. Boy has Doubront settled in or what. I have loved Doubront and Bard from day 1 this year but it is sorta' weird to have your 4 and 5 staring in your rotation. Also not as impressive as having your 1 and 2 staring in your rotation...beggars can't be choosers...I'll take anything I can get at this point.
  14. Boy talk about bad injury luck....every time he has turned around something has happened to him. If he offered me a ride in his car I am not sure I would take it.
  15. I haven't seen any mean spirited posts...some poking fun posts.
  16. That play looked like Byrd almost had a physical altercation with the baseball...as in doink!
  17. Damn it that was not a bad pitch...just got a little to much plate
  18. Scoring is another of those odd quirks of baseball that works....sorta'. Scorers seem not to want to give their guy an error and are just as happy to give a guy they don't care about a hit but it drives pitchers nuts. Runs after that in that inning should be unearned but they end up being earned runs. I really thought that should have been an error. Not like the guy was stretched out for the ball or anything. The ball seemed to stay down but that was it...nothin' special.
  19. Man lately everything headed to the outfield seems like some sort of Amazon adventure. "d-mac checks his compass as he approaches the foul line."
  20. Why has AGons suddenly become meat for that pitch? That is not even starting in the zone...that thing is low and going lower. Don't understand why he has not been seeing that pitch better lately.
  21. Gonzo lucky that went foul
  22. Amazing how often Papi has beaten that shift.
  23. C'mon Pedey....YARD......
  24. By the way...no excuse for the errors but it does not excuse the Sox from making sure Doubront knows the situation and pitches to the game situation.
  25. Ain't that the truth. Geez c'mon felix...they get you a lead and you end up nipping at corners on a night when there is nobody in the pen. I know communications has been discussed in the media and elsewhere as yet another issue for this team but Christ do they just send these guys out there to play without discussing the situation they are pitching and playing in for a particular game or do they just assume a guy like Doubront knows they really need him to recognize what he has to do? Sure get a guy to try to chase with an 0-2 count but after that K the guy outta' there.
