  1. Ya I can't argue with that...I would have preferred Miller also
  2. That was a timely hook by V.
  3. Man why does Byrd have so much trouble finding fly balls?
  4. Well they know what Moore is throwing most of the the time and they know where he is going to throw it so I really don't understand why they are letting him off the hook like this.
  5. Tellin' ya I have totally given up on the umps this year...totally exasperated....like they got together before the season and said, hay ya' know that jung f*** that posts on TalkSox....ya' well we are just gonna' give him a heart attack and get ridda' him.
  6. Ha Ha f*** you Johnson...we finally got one of those
  7. Why was that not a strike if all this other low s*** is a strike?
  8. What a suck inning...Pedey Ks', Papi hits right into the shift and Mr Swings at the first pitch did his thing.
  9. Oh OK that was Luke.....you mean to tell me that they have a Luke for that puke like we have a Youk for our Youk? They can't be f***in' serious...what the hell has that jerk done besides lower the average IQ worldwide in one stroke?
  10. What the f*** are they boooing for now.....
  11. Punch this f***er out felix
  12. Look at these guys...threads hangin' off their uniforms, playin' in a f***in' basement... suck dick team
  13. Nice pitch Felix...you can sit back down McClure
  14. Get the f*** off your ass pitching coach
  15. Felix finish your pitches Felix
  16. Doesn't this place sound like every bad CYO gym you have ever played a late night basketball game in? What a travesty of a dungeon. That is one of the reasons we hate Scott....the nerve to jump on Fenway when he plays in this pit.
  17. When Byrd swings like he did on Strike 2 he makes me think that was a d-mac home run....with his eyes closed.
  18. The pitch Agons crushed foul was the same kinda' pitch he has one if not both his HR's on this year. That one he took for strike 3 is the one I would really like to see him jump on.
  19. I know umps lover to get over the inside shoulder but there are times when I have no idea how they are seeing all of the black outer half
  20. Yea I will take a run anytime I can get it
  21. Trying not to throw Ross another FB unless he has to...probably has to now. Got a break there
  22. This guys FB is just exploding at the plate.
  23. Papi hit that so hard
  24. In this case it is not so much that Reddick is killing it for Oakland. It is more that he is a major league caliber player and trading him when they did is so Red Sox. Here lets take this kid all the way up to the point where he is just about to produce and then........... trade him. Yes of course we trade him. The only difference is that sometimes we do it just before they have ever put on an MLB uniform. Sometimes we do it just after they have tried one on for the first time. We are probably being harsh here though because we did need somebody right. It is a shame that our somebody turned out to be Mr injury prone himself Bailey. I am not sure I would argue that Reddick for an established closer was a bad deal. I do wish we would find a way to hang on to more guys that are just at the point of producing as ML ballplayers. Heck the risk is basically out of the equation at that point. The Sox have put in the time. It would be nice to get some of the benefit.
  25. True but there are two components to bat speed right. There is a component that is maybe better defined as quickness....the ability to generate a lot of bat speed quickly which is generally associated with quickness in the wrists and then there is the actual bat speed through the hitting zone. You would think that muscle mass would help overall bat speed but not really assist the wrists in getting the bat started. The ability to still hit balls that you are fooled on would seem to be more associated with quick wrists and I doubt extra muscle mass helps that at all and may even hinder it. Quick wrists will definitely help a hitter but I don't think it correlates directly to power hitting or even bat speed generally. One thing we probably do remember from the steroid era is the number of balls that looked like they were not well hit that ended up going out......balls that off the bat did not even appear to be deep fly balls were going out. That happened so much that we even went through a period where folks started to look at the balls in an effort to see if MLB had juiced up the balls so that more would go out. There is a study somebody did on bat speed using electronics and all sorts of equipment. They discussed it on NESN the other day. I have yet to be able to find it but apparently Papi did participate in it. I am going to try to find more data on this thing this weekend when I have more time. If I find the thing I will post a link or maybe post up some data.
