  1. Agons used to be first pitch swinging at anything on the outer half at just below the belt line because he was so focused on going the other way. Now it looks like he is first pitch swinging at anything that does not look like a breaking ball. He is missing breaking balls by a mile and I think he now figures he is meat if he lets pitchers get to the point where they can throw him a breaking ball. He is right in that regard. He is meat on breaking balls. Problem is he can't hit FB either. Even if he turns it around at this point he is now batting at a less than .270 average and does not look like he is going to go on some monster run of good at bats. It is now looking like he will do well to come back to mediocre....with no power as opposed to piss poor....with no power.
  2. Here he comes folks Mr Excitement AGons...and there he goes doing his best d-mac impression. Those stats at the bottom of the screen were as sickening as that at bat. I guess that first pitch just looked to juicy to pass up.
  3. They should move Youk to 1st permanently, put WMB at 3rd and sit Gonzo down. Wouldn't that frost his sorry ass.:D
  4. Gonzo...Mr Singles strikes again. f***ing 48 suit size singles hitter
  5. Got back in time to see Bard exit and Miller....give up a f***ing gopher ball. Geez was that pitch ever served up. I have posted elsewhere that I have come to believe that Bard was less experiment and more the Sox simply wanting to get the innings out of Bard in the 5 hole. They did not want to bring anybody else in and needed innings from somebody. However I no longer think this was an experiment at all. I see no evidence of the Sox trying to help Bard actually develop as a starter. They have just left him out there time and time again in situations where he seems to learn nothing and they do not avail themselves of the opportunity to teach him anything. The difference between the way they have handled Doubront and the way they have handled Bard cannot be missed. I actually think so far the Sox have gotten the better of the deal. If anything I think Bard gets f***ed in this deal along with the fans.
  6. We are seeing the thing we talked about all off season just play out during the season. The Sox have gone 9-3 in the last 12 games. Not a bad record at all, in fact a very good one. Have they even been able to climb out of the basement? No! The problem is that there are many more good teams this year and while they may eventually not be in the hunt in September they are going to win enough games to make it very difficult to make the wild card out of the AL East. Two things way different about this year than last...maybe even three. The Sox could not afford a s***** start this year...just could not and we are seeing why played out. It is almost June folks. It is no longer early. 1) there are more good teams in the AL East taking wins away....making it much more difficult to climb out of a hole 2) Does this team look like it is ready to really go on a run that is going to pull them past as many teams as they have to get past just to be in contention? They are in nothing like the shape they were in last year when they went on that mid-season rum. Agons can't find the baseball with two hands and a hunting dog. Youk is trying to climb back into shape. The entire outfield is on its third edition having run through God only knows how many guys 3) and the real kicker...the starting pitching has either been consistently bad (Buch) or inconsistent with regard to 1,2,3 in the rotation. 4 and 5 have been very steady as a 4 and a 5 but that simply describes the problem. When you have to look to your 4 and 5 to find guys that are competitive with their counterparts around the league, you know you are in trouble.
  7. The Sox have plenty of excuses for a poor showing but there is no excuse for the way the guys that are playing...especially the established vets have played in this game.
  8. Looks like Morales might end up the last dog woffin' from the cold of V's dog house.
  9. Albers may work he way out of V's dog house here. V has not been using him at all which I guess is why Padilla is on the shelf tonight.
  10. I don't know folks...this is starting to feel like "the dog days of May" and I have lived through seasons where May has felt like that before....it ain't pretty. Not strong enough to begin with and to many injuries piled on top of that I am thinkin'.
  11. They way they have gone down is really disappointing. The guys that have to hit for this team have turned into whiff-o-matics.
  12. Boy as critical as I have been, I don't know what Agons is gonna' do to break out of this. He has not been able to catch up to fast balls and he can't hit breaking balls at all. Seems to have swung through more of those in 40 games than CC did all last year.
  13. This is this guy's season high for K's???? Gotta' be us???? s***!!!
  14. Felix has really settled and is punching these guys out. Need some runs
  15. The excitement and the pace of this game are getting the better of me. Anyway with some spare time to play with I decided to go take a look at Gonzo's K rate as it seemed to me he is K'ing a bit more than we would like. He is up over 1:5, K:AB now headed slowly to 1:4. That might be equally disconcerting going with the lack of power. Gonzo is normally more like 1:7 going to 1:8
  16. 54 pitches for Felix....Holy Cow!
  17. That is the immortal Cy Matusz!
  18. Hey Byrd has single handedly brought excitement back to the fly ball. He has had more and more decent at bats during this ten game hitting streak. Just not sure how long he can maintain it.
  19. A low pitch Jerry...that looked more like just under the belt line to me and a pretty juicy pitch.
  20. Ace has really settled into this role. Different approach to closing but seems pretty effective at this point.
  21. With those RH hitters up I would have expected Padilla sooner. They wore Hill out. Miller can get RH hitters out but I don't blame V for not being ready to see Miller go 3 innings.
  22. Albers has had some awful outings. Just because the runners on base belong to somebody else does not mean a guy had a successful outing.
  23. It kills me that this is only the 8th. This feels so much like a ninth inning but we still have an out here before we can even get to the 9th.
  24. I think Morales sealing his fate with that last outstanding stint. Sorry to see it too. He made a little progress early in the year and then went straight into the tank. He and Albers currently competing for most useless. Morales has him by a nose the moment. Albers may stick his fat gut out there and beat Morales by a wire.
  25. If he hangs one again it does not matter that Davis is a lefty. If he hangs it the same he has been .....see ya'
