  1. NESN announced it was about to happen and I am still waiting....Pedey just got done...said his usual stuff...nothing unPedeylike. NESN keeps teasin' that there is more coming and like you I really would like to hear what Lester has to say about this one. Remember last time he specifically said he realized he had to get this thing with him and the umps under control and he totally lost it again tonight even having just said that he knows it is an issue one game ago. I think you said you missed the game but he let the ump completely get under his skin...lost it and balls starting flying out including a GSHR.
  2. Lester is about to give his post game presser...this should be interesting.
  3. Lets face it....Bailey mostly tripped over his own two feet over there at 1st and hurt himself in a meaningless ST game...stupid...stupid....stupid....should be a perfectly fit for this team.
  4. Geez we even got VA Sox spoilin' for a fight. C'mon Sox, you need to step it up here.:D
  5. Hate their stupid ballpark....hate the way Madden gets treated like some kinda' god....hate most of their ugly assed players....have respect for what they have done on their budget but hate most of the individual players enough to drive me up a wall.....just rub me the wrong way...admittedly mostly because of Scott. In reality I just do not like the way we lay down for these bums. Watching Rays laughin' and high fivin' as they head back to their Grand Slam dugout does not even seem to be enough to wake up this bunch. Ya' I know we are 1 up in the season series but does it really feel that way? Not to me!
  6. I hope getting bitch slapped by these f***in' Rays chumps finally wakes this team up.
  7. My God I hate everything about this team...even this nitwit Rodney
  8. Holy s***...more serious hate being built up between Ray Sox than Yanks Sox....I hate the f***in Rays...Hope this whole weekend turns into a giant hate-fest. Maybe the one thing that might wake this f***in' heartless baseball team up....and I don't mean the Rays.
  9. To funny....the players were ready to end the thing and the coaches went at it....it is the coaches that want to go after each other....is that to much or what???? Heck at least its entertaining.
  10. f***ing Rodney getting ready to come in. This whole night has got me so sick I want to scream. This is going to be another game that should have been a golden opportunity to put one in the W column. This is in part why I for one have been so none plussed during this whole period. Think of the number of games we have played that should have been good candidates for the W column and we have just blown them. You cannot go back and play those games again. This was the part of the season that should have been made to order for us and here we sit, last place and can't even over 500.
  11. Heck Youk might welcome being trading off this team of babies. At least when Youk is pissed he is really pissed and usually at himself. There are things I don't like about Youk's game but not many of them are things of his own making unless you want to consider his willingness to do what the team needed done as a failing. If V really wants to get somethin' done maybe he should just give Youk a free pass to kick any team member directly in the nuts if he thinks the guy is pulling some of the usual Sox pouty ********.
  12. Maybe Youk should not give a s*** about throwing his helmet and such. He has been more like the old Youk since coming back from this injury than he has been in a long time. Need to see him more to see if he is really going to turn his season around but at least he looks like he might turn his season around.
  13. Sounds like second guessing I know but I think some of us and maybe all of us have grown so used to seeing where Lester goes from the point where he starts pouting and bitching on the mound that taking him out after the GSHR would have been totally justified and even rational. Leaving him in at that point was not rational because we know Lester is not coming back from that place where he goes to pout.
  14. Gonzo....never met a pitch he did not like
  15. No doubt this was a total blow up by Lester. Unfortunately, these are no longer not expected from Lester. It is just that this was a case where ALL the cards were stacked in our favor and Lester STILL s*** the bed. That is hard to swallow. I have not had Lester penciled in as the true #1 for this team for a long time now and this start just about makes it official. We are 1-less. Hopefully we will find a way not to be win-less.
  16. Man Mike, ya gotta' get those man. Salty does not throw enough good balls down to second in the first place. Catch the damn ball man.
  17. Not so fast pumps. if the pen can keep holding these chumps down...remember the Rays pen is not exactly the second coming of Cy Young. Just embarrassing as hell that our supposed #1 can't hold these guys down and the pen can do a better job. The whole thing makes me sick.
  18. Damn that was off the end of David's bat. That was so close to being gone!
  19. C'mon David...we need ya'
  20. Well I think the first order of business for any pitcher is what can I throw for strikes without being what is called "wild in the middle of the plate". In other words if you think you have a pitch that you can only throw for strikes that end up right down main street, in MLB, you are dead dead dead. Punk #9 hitters are going to take you yard. Wild in the middle of the plate is actually worse than not being able to throw a pitch for strikes but not being able to throw a pitch for strikes at all will also make a pitcher lose confidence in that pitch. So that is what I meant earlier about Red Sox like Lester and Buch not having enough confidence in their FB to throw it enough to cut down on the number of cutters they are throwing. The cutter is a great pitch if you can throw it the way Beckett normally throws it and when Beckett normally throws it. Even Beckett gets cutter happy sometimes. But he is more likely to throw it well and at the right time than Lester and Buch who throw it as a matter of desperation as far as I am concerned. You have to be able to locate your FB and either have a decent slider or decent curve to throw the cutter. The cutter is an alternate pitch the way the straight change is an alternate pitch. The cutter is not meat and potatoes and if you as a pitcher try to make it meat and potatoes, you will get the meat part. In fact you will be the meat part.
  21. Its embarrassing! 7-2 to these bums. By rights Lester should go find a hole and bury himself. Here we are at home, a chance to go over 500 with our supposed #1 pitcher on the mound and as usual he finds a way to lay the biggest possible egg.
  22. Actually I hate to say it cause it is going to sound like I am piling on but I actually think is indicative of a much larger problem. Pitchers throw what they have confidence in. If they don't believe in a pitch they are not throwing it. The fact that the Sox starters in the main depend on the cutter so much is indicative of lack of confidence in other pitches and mainly in the regular FB. That is very disconcerting. If you are a starting pitcher and you feel like you cannot throw your regular fastball anytime you want to, you are in a lotta' trouble. Even Beckett, who knows when and how to throw the cutter better than anybody the Sox have, mixes in enough regular FB's in good locations to make his cutter work and even then, even Beckett is meat with the cutter if he throws it above the knees. As for guys like Lester and Buch, I just don't think they have enough confidence in the FB to throw enough of them to cut down on the number of cutters they are throwing.
  23. Well every once and awhile we review these guys for their competitive standing within the league: Lester, one of the sorrier excuses for a #1 and clearly not a 1 for a contending team Beckett, still in my mind as solid a 2 as you are likely to find but not better than that Buch, an absolute disaster as a 3 Doubront, better than most 4's you will find Bard, better than most 5's you will find As I mentioned earlier, Lester's behavior and his demeanor on the mound is way below expectations for your #1 pitcher. You just cannot be out there obsessing about ump calls because they have already beaten you if you do. You have let them beat you.
  24. I just don't know how he is going to do it UN unless he changes his attitude first. Ya' can't be standin' out there on the mound totally obsessed with what the ump is doing. These are the same s*** umps that make the rounds and ump every game. If you are going to let them get to you....your toast before you can even start talkin' about FB's and CB's.
  25. Ya gotta' admit Lester is a fit for this team. We have hitters that are whiny little bitches...I guess a #1 pitcher that is a whiny little bitch should be expected.
