  1. Thank God JD is not in RF tonight. The top of the 9th would still be in progress.
  2. 9th inning parting gift from the Giants. "Just in case you Sox fans don't know you suck.......YOU SUCK"
  3. Rafi trips over his shoelaces.
  4. Oh ny God my God my God. My liquor cabinet no longer has to beckon. I am clutching it to my breast.
  5. Have no fear....gas grill to the rescue.
  6. Delay of game until Joe West can move back to 3rd base from his NY hookup to get a ruling. Imagine how long the delay would be if he was umping 1st tonight?
  7. What the f*** is the 1st base ump looking at there? That was not even close.
  8. Vogt talkin' to himself like Crash in Bull Durham. "Come on meat. Bring that cheese in here again."
  9. Oh my God how did Tat get that one past the hitter?
  10. This looks so much like a Neck-tat inning that the liquor cabinet is calling me and my resistance is very low.
  11. Next year relievers HAVE to face at least three hitters?? Dear Lord how will they ever get out of an inning. Will we finally see the infinite inning in baseball?
  12. Look at this guy pitching for the Giants now. Rogers is a sub-submariner. I predict that the next step for MLB pitching is into a truly goofy period. They have burned out all these flamethrower arms because none of them actually even knew how to throw never mind how to pitch. Hence they break down more often than my old MG did (God damned electronics on stupid English cars. You would think they could have made a car with lights and a heating fan that still worked in the rain and fog in a country with so much God Damned rain and fog). We are already seeing a new wave of junkers coming up as a reaction and a swing of the pendulum. But there are so few guys that can actually find the plate with any sort of pitch at all that I truly do think we will go through a really goofy period with all sorts of motions and all sorts of grips and all sorts of BS from the mound because in truth.........THEY CAN"T ACTUALLY PITCH.
  13. Geezus Joe. Back in the 50's when I was a young lad, I had one of the first D cell battery powered toy tanks that actually moved on treads and [big feature] fired hard plastic shells out its cannon! This was clearly before the age of child safe toys....he...he...he. Anyway, If I were to recover that thing and put it down around 3rd base, it would cover about as much ground as Joe West covers out there. PS If you are wondering about the tank's fate, my little sister poured a bucket of sand into its gears in a completely uncalled for act of vicious sibling rivalry and my poor tank ground to a halt, never to move again.
  14. Beni down to 269 and as has happened in the past, effecting his fielding as well. Whaaaaaaaaaaa
  15. This is what the esteemed NESN studio crews calls "auditioning for a 2020 starter's role". More like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel I would wager.
  16. Treat tonight. Stig, Sean McD and Angry Lou on the EEI mikes for this game.
  17. Since Joe's caboose clearly extends 6' out from his tailgate, should they strap a 1x4 to his waist with a red flag on either end of it to ward off other traffic around 3rd? Maybe a set of hazard lights off his butt would be better. Actually I am OK with Joe. I just don't want him or anybody else to get hurt around him.
  18. Sam Kennedy today: "John and Tom and myself have just entered the research phase for a Pres of baseball ops. We are going to take our time." Sam, do you know what month it is? Are you telling me that John Henry was even less prepared for this than he appeared to be at the time of the DD announcement? It was fairly obvious when the job of team President had simply passed Larry by. JH might be right on the edge of the same sort of reality.
  19. Have to admit, NESN has done a good job this year of showing us the fielders as they change position between pitches. I don't think any other network I have seen even tries. Well another zillion pitches and 6 hours later the Sox lose again. Geez what a season.
  20. Its that super versatility that our now defunct Pres of Baseball Ops saw in Nate. That is what is worth all this money. Lets see: There is Opener There is Featured pitcher There is regular starter There is long reliever (who the f*** knows what that is now that we have Featured pitcher, UN-featured pitcher I guess) There is set up man There is closer I guess we could slot Nate into any one of those and he could SUCK at all of them. Smooth DD....Real smooth. That seems to be the goal in MLB now anyway. Have a whole bunch of defined terms for pitchers that SUCK!
  21. Beginning to worry that Nate thinks his recurring role for next year will be filling the Porcello slot in the rotation.
  22. How many ejections does Kapler have this year. Must be on some sort of a record pace. Though he and David Bell might be neck and neck. That would be for the "no arguments" era of course.
  23. I was thinking about that as I was posting. I think with a 2016 baseball, which was also juiced, he still would have hit 10-12 this year. Manfred should have stopped at the 2016 baseball. The 2018 was over the top and the 2019 is beyond stupid. Sort of over-over the top if that is possible. Heck we have no idea if Manfred will stop here!
  24. What a break out year for Vaz. Funny thing is that he started out sort of typical Vaz as in not even where he was at season end last year and then made a minor adjustment early in the season. From then on its like he was shot out of a cannon.
