  1. "Ross walks bringing the run to the plate. V with another brilliant move recognizing all he needs is a dinger to tie the game calls on Iggy to pinch hit." Oh V you are the smartest guy in the room.
  2. Another outstanding night for Ells
  3. I have watched Lincicom pitch a few times this year. His motion looks much like it did in his "prime". He always looked to me like he was trying to leverage his body and throw his arm to home plate. The motion looks very similar through the body but he does not seem to generate the same kind of arm action off the motion and does not get the same result in velo either. Not sure if he can get it back or not.....but his delivery is not nearly as "violent" as it used to be. It always looked to me like he was doing himself serous damage with that kind of delivery and arm action. Maybe he did.
  4. Davis running back to the dugout from left with the number 6 planted on his cheek. Must be his personal Pesky memorial. How the hell did Ciriaco get on? I had to walk the dog.
  5. Damn I hope Ciriaco just becomes a solid player. I will be happy with "solid player". One major problem the Sox seem to have whether FA or home grown prospect is giving up the money before the player has really done anything to earn it. They give up huge money to guys that really are not that calibre of player and give up a good deal of money to guys on the way up as well that have just not done anything yet. Of the $10M that Iggy has gotten so far, $8M of it was signing bonus. So they have paid him $2M per year for 5 years of work but $8M of it as a signing bonus. What the f*** has he done? If Ells quits tomorrow he will have made a pretty penny with the Sox. No wonder so many of them end up being soft, overripe melons. They these guys get here and it is hard to see what all the noise has been about. I don't know. I am probably just complaining to complain but the whole thing seems ass backwards...like the real world is over here and the Sox are on the other side of the looking glass.
  6. Tough as nails we are and as nutty as loons.
  7. I would rather they be silent than sound like a dead mouse and two chipmunks with hernias. Just in time for another exciting Ells plate appearance.
  8. C'mon you f***s. If you are going to chant Lets go Red Sox....put some life into it. Don't be a fail just like everything else. For crying out loud.
  9. Lets see what ingenious method the Sox use to come out of this with no runs. Pedey is up though so we might get something out of this.
  10. Even though Ciriaco has been slumping you can see that he can at least handle that bet up here. That is what has been tough to watch with Iggy. He takes such weak swings it looks like a twelve year old is up there trying to hit ML pitching.
  11. Geez it is only the bottom of the 5th and it feels like it is the bottom of the 5th of the second game of a double header.
  12. V has started to look really exhausted. He has aged about five years in one.
  13. What do ya' think the chances are that we will respond the way the Yanks and then O's did in their game last night? Can our chances be less than zero?
  14. Another FAIL of a bottom of the inning. So good to see us respond to a two run top of the inning with.......a single extra base hit with runner stranded as usual. It has gotten to be like a menu item at the deli. "Ya I'll have an extra base hit with runner stranded and no runs scored. For dessert, I would like two walks followed by a double play and a K please. Please make sure that is with no runs scored as well"
  15. Geez how many games do we have to endure like this. Same s*** over and over again. Starters just leak runs like old Buick. 4-0 now. No telling what the final score will be. Regardless of the talent level there is no excuse for sleepwalking through games. a whole season plus one month of being a complete fail and the laughing stock of all baseball.
  16. News flash...Boras announces he is coming up to Boston to take a box seat next to the Sox dugout the way Nolan Ryan does with the Rangers. Intends glaring at Ells every at bat in an effort to light a fire under him.
  17. Nice pitch Felix...way to serve it up
  18. There is no way I would rather see those God Damned pinstripes in the playoffs. I don't care what happened last year, hating the Yankees is an eternal certainty. Go O's.
  19. Ells...man oh man....just nothing happening with him. If you can't clean out that pitch on the inside that he had early in the count, forget being a power hitter.
  20. The Yanks won't want Ortiz. They have more DH's than they know what to do with now.
  21. It is a given that if he repeats 2011 Ells will get big money. I just don't think he has a snowballs chance in hell particularly in the one category that really matters, power, most specifically HR's
  22. Age could be a factor when you take as long to heal as Ells does. Even at his current age it might make somebody leery of one of these seven year deals. He looks like a three to five guy to me. Three at the inside and five years at the outside.
  23. Whatever he turns out to be I very seriously doubt he will ever be the Ells of 2011 nor the Ells of 2012 for that matter. He is most likely something in the middle but chances are that something in the middle is closer to the 2012 version than the 2011 especially since he is slowly but gradually aging on top of everything else. The Sox do have the benefit of at least trying to offer him an extension although I just don't see that as all that meaningful. Boras is the kind of agent that only has interest in the big play and he will gamble that Ells will come back strong enough in 2013 to make that gamble pay off. That gamble may actually not be in Ells best interests the way he is going but Boras will make sure he takes it. The biggest problem for both of them is that Ells cannot seem to stay on the field, takes a long time to come back from injury and the level of his performance drops off substantially in the process. There is every chance that you can sign a 5 year contract with him and only get 2.5 years of player out of the deal. Unless Ells has an outrageous 2013 I really don't think he will draw really big money. I just don't think he is the kind of player that will come back that strong in 2013 or any year after that for that matter.
  24. Good job Station 13. Jacko scoffed at me when I chided that the new Yankee Stadium is the "house that Granderson built". Seems to make the point pretty well I think.
  25. The Sox have scored 1 run or less in 23 of 138 games. That is only one of the stats from this woeful season and it is not even a starting pitching stat. Sox have much to resolve before they worry about who is pitching the 9th.
