  1. Vic has been doing this since he hit the wall with his hip so hard that it looked for minute like he was stuck there in the wall! I am willing to bet his hip is really still very sore.
  2. DLR has a little bit of that hesitation motion like Kershaw. I don't see how anybody gets a hit against Kershaw. LH hitters have the usual problems with a LH pitcher and Kershaw hides the ball so well from the RH hitter that he might even be tougher on them. The ball seems to come right out of his left ear to the RH hitter.
  3. A shame that WMB could not hit there. I can see why Farrell has no confidence in him but he surely even at this stage presents more of a HR threat than Carp. Speaks volumes that Farrell would give that up in that situation.
  4. Well getting into the pen has been our salvation lately. We are doing nothing against starters lately. Maybe it will be our salvation tonight.
  5. Jesus....we can't even do anything right when we do something right.
  6. What these LH pitchers are just good when they play the Sox.....weak hitting is weak hitting....Other than Pedey we really don't have anybody dependable from the right side...we just don't.... Maybe 700 is right. We might should have been more aggressive on Reynolds....although I don't think he would have been an answer for us. Besides as usual with us it is the other side of the equation that is really sort of getting out of hand...that being the pitching.
  7. Our problems with LH pitchers sorta' makes sense. Naps can't get on track. WMB is still lost IMO. Gomes comes up big in big moments but he is no monster day in and day out. Salty's weak side is from the right....and I like Vic more from the Left than Right.... So there ya' go. If I were playing the Sox in coming weeks I would be scouring my system for LH pitchers. Heck I would throw every LH pitcher I had at them.
  8. Nothing just happened...same thing that has been happening the last few innings....Andy the ******* seems to have our number tonight.
  9. t. That would only matter if the Sox were no longer playing. As long as the both teams are still playing, I would prefer to be the team with games in hand any day.
  10. Gardner is such a tool. You can depend on him for at least one idiot play like that per game.
  11. Well there is the chance they will clean the slate tonight. They have pitched poorly in games of late, they have not hit in some and have fielded like s*** in some. This is the first one in a long time where they can't pitch, can't hit and can't field.
  12. None of them have been truly terrific lately. Peavy probably gave them the best start they have had in the last couple of weeks...maybe even the best two starts they have had out of his three starts.
  13. I would rather be tied in the loss column with games in hand than tied in the loss column with a lead in %.
  14. We really don't. We are tied in the loss column with the Rays having games in hand...not good. I think they have got to and I mean got to get XB and even JBJ up here now. This is no longer a dynamic offense. It is a plodding offense but does not have the muscle to just bash the opponent into submission. They need young legs and some youthful dynamic play which is what they have not had without Iggy and JBJ....and what happens as I say that...Gomes...another plodder gets picked off.
  15. Yea but their getting caught because other teams have picked it up since the ASB which is what happens in crunch time. It does not matter if we have basically stood still offensively, it is the equivalent of going backwards. That is what I was saying earlier...classic Red Sox. I have got so many tread marks up my back from watching other teams run me over during the past 50 years.
  16. Jeez I thought Ells was not going to get up for a second when he was looking in and wincing while still on one knee.
  17. It is watching them find so many ways to loose games that really has me scared....every night it is something else and that is how winning two out of three turns into losing two out of three. Actually though the pitching has really sucked lately. While i think there is a bit of overreaction going on tonight, in truth Buch cost himself about 5 weeks in total turnaround time dicking around with this thing, which means he would have been back by now had that not been the case. Totally OK with his taking the most conservative road back but that 5 weeks kills me. The offense has not been great either..likely will no longer lead baseball in runs scored by the end of next week I would guess and the defense has been swiss cheese.
  18. I'm gonna be f***ing sick at this rate....letting the skanks just roll like this is embarrassing....just f***ing shoot me now and get it over with
  19. Playing like s*** after the ASB...different year..same Red Sox...cannot tell you how many seasons I have lived through like this.
  20. f***ing Petite..... I do love the fact that he just stands there glaring in over his glove like "come on s*** head....get in the box so I can snuff your ass out. An ******* skankee with a few admirable qualities.
  21. Reynolds is made to order to kill us. RH batter...looking for meatball throwing pitchers...nuff said. Would not have been somebody I would have wanted to see the Sox get cause we already have one of these kinds of guys but would have preferred he ended up someplace else. We are going to see this jackass for nine games or something like that.
  22. I have said it before it is worth saying here. This is all a plot by the PA. They invent this s*** to pump salaries. I swear there is a back room at PA Headquarters where guys are lined up row upon row just thinking up new definitions for simple s*** that has to happen during the course of a game and numbers to quantify them. Things like "elite set up man". What an utter and complete load of ******** that one is. Or "quality start". Another complete load of ********. Elite set up man should be, "failed starter, guy who could not cut the mustard looking for a job". Quality start should be, "actually looked pretty good for 5 innings before he got his clock cleaned".
  23. While I am not really thrilled with it, in truth especially in the AL, they have moved more toward where the Sox have always been regarding the SS position. However now that pitching is beginning to once again exert its dominance more like it was in the 60's through 80's, we will very likely see more defensive minded SS's even in the AL. I don't expect that to change the Sox though. Their thinking in this regard spans decades, maybe even centuries. As long as Fenway stands, they will always prefer no glove, all hit SS's. Look at the current apple of their eye, XB for example. They have probably buried the scout that brought Iggy into the organization somewhere behind the scoreboard sweeping up after the game is over.
  24. That is a great point Soxsport and really does suggest they need to get some young legs up here to help revitalize at least the offense. They are not lethargic and lifeless because they want to be lethargic and lifeless. They don't have the guys that had been contributing to that dynamic aspect of the offense any longer...guys that made them tough to control not because they were going to bash an opponents walls down but because they could dink and dunk you to death. Iggy is wearing a different uniform and JBJ is in Pawtucket. I do think Naps is going to have to find his way back to at least being as effective as was. While they do need more of what Iggy and JBJ and maybe XB can give them, based on what I am seeing from WMB, I don't think he can give them enough of a boost from the right side to amount to much improvement there. He is just so oblivious to where he is at the plate that as I said in the game thread, he gets himself out. That is not to say dump WMB and lets see more of Holt and Synder again. But WMB is not going to be enough IMO. Also as I said in the game thread, I just know I am going to end up wanting to punch Buch right in the mouth before this is all over.
  25. Holy s*** Youk..Dr. Pepper and cigarettes??? Your makin' it too easy for him man. All Thunder had to do is wait for you to keel over.
