  1. Ya' know though...this outside outside outside horse s*** starts with Lester whoe spends entire innings trying to paint the edge of the black outside. Farrell showed some good sense pulling Workman there. I would not be surprised if he doesn't literally tell Bres to drive these f***s off the plate or he will be out to send him to the showers too.
  2. Come on Ells JFC....
  3. Guthrie on the other hand is a veteran pitching like a veteran. He is making the Sox earn everything.
  4. This is also where not having a staff leader really hurts what is really sort of a young bunch between the pen and the rotation. Peavy is too new to be the leader. Lester is too screwed up. Buch is well Buch. Felix is too young and needs to be led...not a leader. Dempster is not pitching good enough to lead. Lackey can probably do it but might feel like he would be stepping on Lester's shoes. Forget that s***...these guys need help.
  5. Workman kept Maxwell honest there. But he cannot let up. Every Sox pitcher is going to have to realize how aggressive the hitters are going to be going into the stretch run. Workman left that one right out over the plate to Tejada. Did not get into his kitchen far enough. This is where the Sox young arms are really going to be tested. Cause if you can't pitch inside...YOU CAN'T pitch in a pennant race. Forget it!
  6. This is so frustrating...you can't let up on these guys. Just have got to keep pounding them inside. Two guys in a row stride right out over the plate for hits. And yes, they were striding out over the plate again in the 4th also. Just cannot let up especially when a team is flush and feeling really confident. You have to keep driving them back off the plate cause any hitter that owns the whole plate is going to kill you. If I were to task Nieves with one thing it would be to get these guys pounding hitters inside and driving them back off the plate. This is not going to work in a pennant run.
  7. And Butler is leaning out over the plate again. God somehow bring Pedro back twenty years younger.
  8. Thanks very much VA. If Will can get ahead in the count he has a chance.
  9. Problem is that Boras will get somebody to pay for Ells PR value and the most the Sox will pay is for his performance value. They are not going to get into a bidding war over Ells Sex appeal...It's not going to happen but that is where Boras is going to take it.
  10. I can't even kick the dog. How can I be pissed at the dog when we scored runs?
  11. runs ...Good grief.....now don't let these f***s come back on you. I did not get to see Will's AB at all. Anybody remember what the count was? I walked in just at the end. looked like a FB he hit but not sure. Didn't get back to the TV in time.
  12. Jeez this is f***ing ridiculous. Sox cannot get outta' this town soon enough for me.
  13. Atta' boy Felix...hang tough...tired of losing to these f***s.
  14. Felix arm angle looks wrong to me. Could just be TV but he does not appear to be getting over the ball as much as he usually does. Seems to be slinging it a little like Ueh does. But that is Ueh's natural motion. By the way, that might have been a tougher catch by ells than it looked, right on the shade/sun line like that.
  15. Man, so far we don't have a single pitcher that has looked at all comfortable in this hell hole. Lester had a terrible 1st inning. Peavy has always hated it here and never got settled. Felix does not even look like he has his mechanics under control.
  16. The only thing I don't like about the Sox choosing WMB over XB is that the Sox had proclaimed early on that Will would not come back until he was ready to stay. That may come back to haunt them now. I had thought that Will looked too comfortable for a rookie 3rd baseman while he was up here. He still looked too comfortable and not focused enough in the few times I saw him in Pawtucket. Granted he started to generate some better numbers in Pawtucket. But, this is a hard hard game. Nothing easy about MLB. I hope he is not sitting here now, fat, dumb and happy thinking that the Sox MUST keep him here based on what was said when they sent him down. You have work to do young man.
  17. Infuriating I was just listening to the radio and hearing that Felix is likely to pitch differently than Lester and Peavy had the last couple nights. Apparently like everything else seems to come to the Sox brain trust late, it has come to their attention that the Royals hitters are diving out across the plate and getting complete plate coverage with impunity. Why? Because the Sox don't have a starter that will pitch inside. But this have been happening since at least the D-backs series. In truth it has been happening since before the D-backs series. It just got so bad in that series that I felt compelled to post something about it. However I would guess that as bad as it was in the D-backs series, other team scouts have noticed and clued teams in that the Sox pitchers simply refuse to pitch inside. Peavy actually did try to get inside some but I could not tell if he was just wild last night. Sox need to wake up and figure out that they are in a dog fight. It has all been fun and games and "isn't it fun to win". But if they don't smarten up soon, they are gonna' find out that losing is not much fun at all. Teams are coming out now with the eyes narrowed, loaded for bear. WAKE UP.
  18. I thought it would be Will. To be honest this is only opinion, but I think it is the right choice for right now. Will is better defensively for one thing at least at 3rd. For another and this is more along the lines of the future of the infield...XB is going to be a Red Sox infielder, likely SS and likely either the end of this year or beginning of the next. He will surely be here in some capacity as part of the call ups. But WMB's future here is really a question mark. The only way they will know if he can hit ML pitching is to expose him again to ML pitching. To be honest I actually think at least right now, WMB likely has more of a chance of succeeding against ML pitching than XB.
  19. Plus the entire issue of non-yankee fans wanting the skanks to pay all the money confuses the issue entirely. You really think fans just put that overarching incentive aside?
  20. Just to remind folks, Holt is Pedey's back up at 2nd also. So Holt is going nowhere. Once AND IF EVER one of these characters go, it will be Snyder. If we don't come back here, these are actually the sorts of games in sequence that really worry me.....can't hit one night...can't pitch the next....once you start inventing multiple ways to lose games, the winning two out of three turns into losing two out of three.
  21. Funny game baseball...Peavy makes a decent pitch and gets a tape measure shot to CF for his trouble...makes a crummy pitch to the next batter, not getting it in under the hands enough and gets a ball caught at the wall.
  22. That was a decent pitch....ball is really carrying tonight
  23. What the hell was Nava looking back at the ump for...confirmation that he swung at it. Sometimes a guy will ask if a ball swung on was actually going to be a called strike. But Nava did not ask anything.
  24. What would we do without Papi in this lineup....I just don't even want to think about it.
  25. What a gun Escobar has. I sometimes wonder if Ells looks at a throw like that and ask "How the f*** does he do that?"
