Mitch crushed that. No question Pearce has really helped Mitch by giving him days off and still being an effective hitter. I think Mitch has lost some weight by the way. More through this season than last. So I really really have liked the Pearce move and would have liked it at half Pearce's production.

Beginning to think the infield surface here in Rogers is getting to be more like it was before they made all those changes..maybe contributing to the number of DP's. Bounces are truer than you would expect on a turf field and the ball gets to the infielders pretty quick.

And Barnes in set up and Hembree anywhere you put him past 10 pitches and Kelly who is now relegated to go in and hit the batter status. Then there is Workman, the forgotten man of the pen that deserves that status. Thornburg better actually come on.

Jays are such a wreck. Morales is a cripple. Donaldson and Tulo can't stay on the field if their life depended on it. A DP now and they get out of this with no runs.

Agree completely. A bit surprised Stroh has held it together this long...but he has. Heck if this was the MFY he was pitching to he would have a zillion K's since they are always trying to lift. They would not even be getting ground balls against him.

I actually don't know if robotic Home plate calls will ever actually happen. Fooling the ump is as much part of the game as fooling the hitter and the umps union is too strong anyway. As much as I hate bad calls, I actually do not want to see robot umps. I think if we actually saw how it changed the game, we would not like it.

Its Lyons and OB tonight. They can be a chore because they actually don't like each other.

There are published stats and I used to keep track of one or two umps per season that I particularly just hated. But somebody would have to be diligent enough to create a spread sheet and record the ump tracking material season by season and I just don't have the energy for it. Nobody publishes the year over year data, just current year.My general impression though is that they are worse. Just as many of them running around with rotten attitudes and more of them running around that are flat incompetent.

I guess we will just have to see how much time JD gets to devote to his hitting when and if he has to spend over an hour each game day just trying to get an achilles freed up enough and two feet freed up enough so that he can actually move.
