  1. I would take Beeks back in a minute if we knew what to do with him. I would also just go ahead and give back the MFY game Evo won because that 4-0 sweep did not really do this team much good attitude wise.
  2. I will be surprised if they come back from this. They don't like playing here. That much is obvious and they are now down 5-0. I would love to see them turn this into a game. But it will be an extreme surprise if they do.
  3. Disappointed JBJ pulled his head off the ball on that swing. His success has lately has come from thinking oppo every AB and only hitting to RF on a dead inside pitch. That was just the kind of swing that gets him into these long slumps and we do not need that right now.
  4. Three innings, 9 batters. They are not even turning over the order anymore.
  5. No he doesn't. Look at his spray chart for God sake
  6. 1-0 what should he have been looking for? 1-0 what would he normally be looking for, a FB in the zone right and most specifically, according to the God of hitting Ted, a FB in your favorite quadrant of the zone.
  7. Lyons is just blind...just blind. What does he want viewers to believe...a strike has to be entirely in the strike zone?
  8. Mookie not swinging at that 1-0 inner half FB is even more telling than his not swinging at 0-0 pitches generally.
  9. Mookie has swung at plenty of ist pitch FB's all season. He has been glad to get a FB in that situation and if he ends up fouling off a breaking pitch fine. Its only strike one if he fouls off a breaking pitch. He is not looking to swing at FB's right now and that is a problem. He is not even looking for a 1st pitch FB and that is not Mookie. He was up 1-0 in the count and was STILL not looking for his favorite pitch, an inner half FB which he got and did not swing at.
  10. Not quite the DP we needed
  11. We don't even have an out yet and regardless of Lyon's idiocy, Holt should have caught the ball to begin with.
  12. Mookie is mainly taking FB's which tells you something about his confidence in his ability to get around and get the barrel to the FB right now.
  13. Nicely done Brock. What the f*** were you doing.
  14. This is getting into Mookies head now
  15. I can see sitting Beni in the rotation of getting the OFers off this turf for one of three especially with a LH pitcher going for the Rays. Not sure why its Pearce at DH instead of JD unless Pearce has some monster numbers v Snell.
  16. I take it this is the last game of ugly uni-dumb nickname weekend. I pity the poor slobs that have had four game sets in these things. Must be somebody out there stuck with that bad luck of the draw.
  17. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Eduardo Nunez ® 3B 3. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 4. Steve Pearce ® DH 5. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 6. Ian Kinsler ® 2B 7. Brock Holt (L) LF 8. Sandy Leon (S) C 9. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF Looks like Cora was in fact getting the OFers off this turf for one game each of this series. Beni's turn today and JD off even of DH duties.
  18. They are getting to the point where adrenaline will carry them through the remaining 31 games. It is no coincidence that they have not played that well since the four game sweep of the MFY's. I think they thought they won the division by Aug 7th. They are tired and letting down is the worse thing that you can do when you are tired. You just dig a deeper physical hole for yourself. the only one of the everyday players that is somewhat concerning is Mookie who has swung a tired bat for two weeks anyway. Cora just has to help him get his second wind. I would like Cora to play him not more than 10 of the next 15 games. These next 15 should be the last dog days of August games. At the end of the 15 Mookie should have gotten the benefit physically and will likely be breaking down the manager's door to get back on his normal schedule for what will then be the remaining 16 and the post season. With the race tightening all of them should be able to finish the season on adrenalin if nothing else. Beni is missing creampuff pitches but that looks less to be about fatigue and more about letting his swing get too big again.
  19. Mookie is just no longer getting around on the baseball. He just isn't. I doubt his vision is failing him from start to this point in the season. There are not a whole lotta' reasons for a guy as quick to the hitting zone as Mookie is to not be getting around on the ball. Good observation in here by somebody that Mookie's swing is not as flat as it is usually. I suspect he is reaching for more power exacerbating his situation. Needs to get his second wind but can probably use some help from Cora in that regard. Its not a new thing for Mookie either. He has been late to the hitting zone for a couple weeks now anyway.
  20. Beni can be fixed. Somebody needs to get him in front of some video of his swing. Mookie might be tougher to deal with. This is going to start to get into his head if its not already there. Cora has got to give him some time off as I don't think playing regularly is going to allow Mookie to "hit" his way out of this.
  21. Yea right Lyons...Head down, great balance, hands entirely outside the baseball.
  22. So I know Cora has got to keep trying Thorny. But he is so far not getting it done. Hembree, no, Workman no, Thorny no, Pom only to have a LHer, Valazquez for somebody to throw in to about anything, Barnes, Brasier, Kimbrel. Does not sound like much of a post season pen to me. Rotation has to come through in crunch time.
  23. Dancing Rays in the dugout...f*** off. If that doesn't rile up the Sox nothing will I guess.
  24. Pham HR hurt. Took it out of bloop and a blast range
  25. You have no business commenting on a team you know nothing about.
