  1. Maybe more alarming than the dif between the Astros and Jays pitching, the Jays ARE NOT the worst team in MLB. A decade or maybe two ago, that would be hard to believe.
  2. Hopefully JBJ won't conclude that the swing he took at that is the answer to his hitting issues. After watching him all these years I have convinced myself that nobody has weirder ideas about hitting than JBJ....NOBODY. I would believe he could convince himself of just anything at this point.
  3. Not agreeing with the HP ump but I don't wonder if he is just looking for some sort of safe zone. Lets see: - I have to hear them barking at me when they are at the plate hitting - I have to hear them barking from the dugout Now I have to hear them barking at me while they are headed for their defensive positions too! I call FOUL.
  4. The change is the pitch du jour these days, particularly for LH pitchers who are now throwing it to everybody, LH batters, RH batters, you name it. That is also what contributes to some blurred lines on opposite hand hitter stats because if you miss with the Change it almost does not matter what side of the plate the hitter is on. Good chance it will be crushed. Velocity of the pitch as in " he used the velocity of the pitch to contribute to the distance it was hit" no longer seems to contribute to the ability to hit the ball hard or out either, not with this rocket ship baseball. Just get some piece of the barrel of the bat on it, any little bit of the barrel at all and its going.
  5. Does anybody take more called 3rd strikes than JBJ?
  6. Can anybody see anything watching this thing! The Devers line drive and the Chavis HR are the first two hit baseballs that I have had any idea where they were going. Isn't my monitor. I wonder if NESN is not only using the Rogers camera angles but simply taking the Toronto feed.
  7. I might be getting too old for Rogers Center camera angles. Anybody that actually saw Beni catch that ball is a better man than me.
  8. So are both teams going to play arcade baseball today? Bing....bong....bing.
  9. Will look like a line smash in the box score.
  10. Maybe he should try carrying his bat to the plate like its a baseball bat. He carries his bat around like its a uranium rod from a nuclear power plate or kryptonite. "Don't want to get too close to this thing."
  11. You can tell JBJ is struggling with pitch recognition. Even when his swing isn't crap he struggles with pitch recognition. it has gotten so that when he does see something he thinks he should swing at that is actually something he should swing at he is too anxious and.......rolls over it. Watching JBJ "hit" is actually painful.
  12. Just don't do Marisnick a favor and hang one to him.
  13. Thats better. Really can't throw that many LFers at X without him finally doing something.
  14. f***ing Correa. You are right Splinter. If X is worth 20....Correa has got to be 30.
  15. And there it is....what do they get for all this dancing around. They get more AB's for Nunez or Pearce. Be still my heart.
  16. Beni is not a good CFer either. I don't care where he played in college or the minors but that one is actually a better option than moving Mookie to CF because Beni is a better CFer than JD is a RFer and you have not moved your GG RFer out of the hardest RF in baseball to play. I would not play Pearce in Fenway RF either. But I would put him there before I would put JD there just to save JD from killing himself out there and taking his bat out of the lineup. I could give a rats behind about Pearce though taking the GG RFer out of the most difficult RF in baseball for guys like JD or Pearce makes just no sense at all. Holt can give you a few games out there....but not that many. Would rather see Holt sharing time at 2nd with Chavis and Chavis sharing time with Moreland at 1st with Pearce sharing time with the bench! JD should only play OF away from Fenway and in the "safest" least taxing Corner OF's in MLB in order to keep from what we saw yesterday in RF and what we saw in LF today. You really want JD tripping over himself in the OF like that? Where would this offense be without JD if he hurts himself out there. Heck, so far, they are a .500 team WITH him this year.
  17. How does Correa make that look so easy. That was terrible technique on the Vaz ground ball and Correa just made it look like a walk in the park.
  18. Walden!!....Cora is going to have to have more confidence in him. Don't see how Cora can avoid it.
  19. Got eyes. Its what he does not get to that matters. He plays too deep for one thing. Usually when a CF plays too deep its because he is not confident he can get back to the wall. Then he really does not come in on balls at all well from CF. For the few times he has played CF this year he has already let 3 hits fall in right in front of him. Mookie does not get good reads in CF which happens to be the thing that actually defines a CFer. The play Marisnick made in this series....Mookie does not make in CF. He does not even try to make it.
  20. Didn't say he sucks. He is average at best in CF. So you take your GGer in RF who happens to play in the toughest RF in baseball and turn him into an average CFer moving some below average OFer (JD for example) to the toughest RF in baseball in the process. Good luck with that. Then what do you get for your efforts as far as offense goes? Nunez....Pearce? Good luck with that too. When Holt comes back, there is a little more flexibility but not much. I don't expect to see Pedey for more than a week at a time in an endless process of IL back to rehab back to lineup for short stints. Does not seem there is much help to expect from Pedey either.
  21. I love that commercial. I especially like when Duncan gestures at the opponent after he blocks his shot as if to say f*** You. Its so hockey. Even a walrus named Duncan tells you to f*** off in hockey.
  22. C'mon Chris. hold them off here. Springer gone should leave a hole they can't really fill in their order.
  23. The ole' reliable for the Sox offense....a muff in the field by the opponent
  24. Hinch trying to get Miley to 5 so he has a chance for a win. Big opportunity for X
