  1. I don't know which is more disheartening, Sale losing his FB or Porcello losing his. I guess I will choose Sale losing his since WE NOW OWN HIM through 2024!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Clearly this is another day when Sale trusts nothing other than his Slider. This oughtta' be interesting.
  3. Geezus JBJ...that was right in the LH hitter honey hole. But since you are once again losing the ball on the way to the plate, you probably have no idea where it was.
  4. Nice pitch Domingo....you actually out dueled Sale for worst pitch so far. You might have retired the trophy with that one.
  5. Surprised Chris worked out of that. Once it goes that bad, he tends to go nuclear. Then again, maybe he is getting more used to it "going that bad" and is not so flustered by it all.
  6. I don't want to see this count get to 3-2. Sale is getting nothing near the plate past the hitters.
  7. Oh s***...Sale is about to let this get away from him
  8. Where the f*** did this ump crew come from....MARS. Hey Mr Manfred....do you actually know how many ways you are operating an utter clown show? If you had them listed up on your office wall you wouldn't need wallpaper.
  9. Boy we have hit some soft liners lately. The board can probably tell I am in a salty mood today. 1:00 Saturday start. Lost last night in an ugly boring game. NOT HAPPY!
  10. Hearing the season w/l Yankmees/Red Sox is just driving me nuts. Those two games in London should just be washed from the record. Funking Manfred nonsense. Home games my ass.
  11. Geezus....if the the Sox win this one does that foretell this brand of "humor" until we lose a game? You might end up with the whole board pulling in the wrong direction.
  12. Well that is interesting. Yesterday, Cora was still "hoping" Price would be back for one of the Saturday games.
  13. 1. Mookie Betts ® RF 2. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 3. Xander Bogaerts ® SS 4. J.D. Martinez ® DH 5. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 6. Brock Holt (L) 2B 7. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 8. Jackie Bradley Jr. (L) CF 9. Sandy Leon (S) C 1. DJ LeMahieu ® 1B 2. Aaron Judge ® RF 3. Edwin Encarnacion ® DH 4. Gleyber Torres ® SS 5. Gio Urshela ® 3B 6. Cameron Maybin ® LF 7. Kyle Higashioka ® C 8. Breyvic Valera (S) 2B 9. Brett Gardner (L) CF
  14. Sale getting game 1 Saturday which I guess means Price in game 2 of the doubleheader.
  15. I would not take much optimism from this game if I were you. The Red Sox currently have their heads up their asses and are likely polishing their golf clubs in the clubhouse. The last time a team had the top offense in baseball and failed to make the post season was the 2011 Chicken and Beer Red Sox and this bunch looks poised to be something like that. The Sox got better pitches to hit from Paxton than NY got from ERod and simply did nothing with them. The Yanks for their part simply swung themselves out of AB's. Erod was not even trying to throw strikes, hence the high walk rate. Why should he try to throw strikes? The Yanks were swinging out of their shoelaces at pitches more than a foot off the plate. They seem to have taken the lack of plate discipline that plagues MLB generally to new levels. This was a classic 2019 Manfred-ball game. The starting pitchers really didn't pitch, neither of them and the hitters didn't hit....none of them. Baseball as boring as watching paint dry. That said, the NY bullpen did its thing and that would be encouraging to a NY fan.
  16. That horse has left the barn. Who knows what Cora actually did. That whole post trade deadline fiasco was a concoction of the Sox PR Machine. I don't care that Kennedy and DD got swept up in it. They should have kept Cora out of it.
  17. Does not the change the fact that DD is not the guy you want to rebuild...maybe....MAYBE retool for a year but not rebuild. If rebuild is in order then a new President of Baseball Ops is in order. They might be able to get by with this core with some retooling for 2020. But after that IT WILL be rebuild and that is not DD. I don't want to get trapped in a circular argument or discussion which is where this appears to be going. Yes, it requires money from the owner and a farm system to rebuild. High draft picks will get you there sooner although I do not like how quickly those draft picks tend to be moved up to the ML club. Scholastic athletics no matter how rigorous are not professional athletics. We now keep pushing kids up through these systems so we can market them at the ML level when they are barely shaving which tells me something about the bad marketing position MLB has painted itself into. In any event, a franchise needs to be able to make trades that bring its minor league system suitable candidates for their ML effort. You won't do all of it with even high draft picks. None of that skill set represents DD strong points. He spends the owners money and he spends the franchises farm system. He does it quickly and with little regard for whether or not he is overpaying or not. That is what DD does and that is what he did here. We got a Series win for his efforts. But I would be strongly opposed to leaving him in charge of a rebuild. It is just not his strong suit, by a long shot. Frankly the biggest frustration with the 2019 Sox is that the Yankmees are not a great team...they are barely a good team. Any kind of push from the Sox would have pushed that team over....RIGHT OVER. That is one reason I can believe retooling for a 2020 run might work out. We might not have gotten past the Rays which is fairly odious since that would mean being beaten by a $65M payroll. But we should have been able to push the Yankmees right over. The Astros if NY even gets to them are going to rip them a new *******.
  18. And this is what frustrates me about the 2019 Red Sox. This is not a great Yankmee team. Its barely a good Yankmee team. Any kind of push at all from the Sox would have pushed this team over. We might not have gotten past the Rays which would be ignominy itself....beaten by a $65M total payroll! But this Yankmee team should have been a pushover.
  19. My personal feeling is that the Astros are going to rip this Yankmee team a new *******...that is if NY even gets to the Astros.
  20. While the Yankmees have simply swung themselves out of AB's unless Erod walked them, IMO our guys just don't have their heads in the game at all. They have had better pitches to hit than the Yankmees have had. The Yankmees have been the Keystone Kops of hitting tonight. Our guys have just not been into it at all.
  21. Erod did not leave many pitches in the middle of the plate tonight. Then again....he didn't even try to throw strikes which is why he had so many BB's. He either walked the hitter or the hitter chased that garbage all over the map swinging out of his shoelaces. If somebody told me Manfred's game was a grand conspiracy designed to kill me from boredom, I would believe it. They were swinging at pitches a foot or more off the plate and swinging at them as hard as they could to boot. Still are.
  22. JBJ is back to tilting his head and losing the ball before it gets to the plate. Maybe he AND Manfred are both looking at the ball girls when they bend over.
  23. If he closes his eyes before he swings....then MAYBE
  24. I would not call this a pitching dual and I love pitching duals. I would call this insanity.....a futility dual.
