Maybe Oakland still wins the division lol? In actuality I want to play these guys and beat them in the playoffs.

Call me negative. I don’t care. But we lost to Houston in the playoffs last year. And have now dropped 4 of 6 to them this year. The Sox are having a year for the ages. But they aren’t showing me any reason why we can beat these guys come playoff time. I hope I’m wrong. I hope Sale and Price deliver 6 or 7 strong innings and we can take the first two with some momentum. But with this bullpen and the inconsistency offensively I really am starting to wonder if it’s a repeat of last year.

Well E Rod is pitching today. Not sure what difference it will make as Price was excellent. But still.

Agreed with this. However 9 out of 10 times if you asked me “Will the Sox win if Price goes 6 scoreless innings and they have a 3 run lead?” I would say yes. The bullpen was flat out atrocious tonight against a very good team. Other members have said it multiple times. The pen is fine against average to s*** teams but against the elite teams like Houston, New York, Cleveland etc. It won’t cut it. Need to make some changes

I trust Sale can go 7 if healthy. The rest is really a toss up. Price would be close if he keeps playing this way. Would also help if we could score more than 3 runs against Houston but can’t leave it up to the offence every night.

Unfortunately the trouble is it’s very tough for a pitcher to go 7 or more come playoffs. None of ours did and that’s why we lost two years in a row. I’m very nervous for the playoffs.
