    True, might just take Houck some time to settle into the position as well. It’s been a while, but I remember Kimbrel used to give us some pretty good heart attacks at the best of times lol.

    You are somewhat correct about the pitches but you’re missing the biggest aspect in my opinion. A closer needs to live and breathe pressure. Houck fits that PERFECTLY. He never ever looks stressed, or angry like so many other pitchers. Very few can come into the 9th and get a save. Houck treats the 9th like any other inning and it shows. The guy barely breaks a sweat. It was 6-5 and he had one of the best hitters in the league come up, and he struck him out Houck is our closer. Did he make things tense? Sure. But guess what. Kimbrel did at the best of times for us as well, same with many other closers. The best closers can have off nights. I am perfectly fine with Houck being out closer. The guy fits the position perfectly.

    Ya fair enough. I just wish we had a reliable closer. Who was the guy that used to pitch for the jays and Astros? Can’t we get him. I’m seriously drawing a blank on his name. But he would be good. Not having a reliable closer is going to kill us

    So Cora goes with the guy who has 3 blown saves coming into this. Cora is an idiot. Almost anybody was a better option. Valdez is a better option. The drunk fat guy in the stands is a better option. Cora is a f***ing moron with the bullpen. He’s a good manager. But when it comes to the bullpen he’s insanely stupid. Always has been and always will be.

    The pitching hasn’t surprised me especially with Sale out again. I was expecting us to be average or less than average in that stat. But we have too much fire power even with JD out to be this bad offensively. 2 runs In 6 of our last 7 we have scored 2 or 1 run. Story Hernandez Devers Bogaerts Verdugo Dalbec (assuming he played the way he did the second half of last season) That’s too many decent to good players to be putting up these kind of numbers. That is what is the most surprising to me so far this year. We knew we wouldn’t win games because of the pitching…. But holy s*** I thought we would be scoring more than 1 and 2 runs a game. This is just pathetically horrible
