Rules don't apply to a700hitter. It's bad mojo creating a game thread after a loss, it's good mojo for that same person to keep going if the team is winning... I dunno. The rules on this board are lost with me.
That attrocious start to the season is what killed him. Outside of his last start he has been incredible. His starts against the Royals, Orioles and Rangers were fantastic. Not sure what happened against the Jays. Hopefully that is just a one off.
Honestly I would predict right where we are at. I would have still thought our offense would carry us and we would get some wins there plus we still have Price and Porcello. I wouldn't have predicted another World Series type year but I would have still thought we would be competing for a wild card spot which we are
Which believe it or not I am fine with if we are winning the division by a mile. Being that we are tied for a second Wildcard spot and really can't afford to lose this game with the Yanks coming up I would be absolutely pissed to find out he is resting guys when he shouldn't.
They are definitely the team to beat but I wouldn't say we can't beat them. Would I put money on it that we can beat them? No..... But any given day in the playoffs anything can happen. When Sale and Price are on their A game they can shut down any lineup and I don't care who is batting. I definitely wouldn't want to face them as my first choice come playoffs but if we go on a run in the playoffs it will have to happen. Yankees are for real this year and won't go out in the first round.
I think Cora is right. When looking at Martinez he doesn't show any back issues at all and my dad watches some games with me. He has a lot of knowledge with the back as he has had 2 surgeries on his back and has studied a ton on back injuries and long term impact it has on the body. Even he says he doesn't see anything showing that Martinez is still hurt from his back. I think it's just in his head right now and a slump. He will hopefully climb out of it.....
