  1. No doubt. He couldn't walk at first, now he's running the bases and hitting live pitching. If doctors didn't feel he had fast enough reaction times to get out of the way of a fastball up and in they wouldn't OK him for that.
  2. Would it be safe to assume that the troll has never predicted that a Red Sox player would be back from injury sooner than was reported and is therefor just throwing s*** at a wall and patting himself on the back when it sticks?
  3. According to all the stories, his quick hand eye coordination have recovered tremendously. It's the stuff like running mechanics and balance that he's still struggling with.
  4. Sucks. I guess we cross our fingers now and hope Bedard can stay healthy. But hey, if Colon can do it anyone can!
  5. Were you the poster that claimed you spoke to him in a bar in NYC the other week and he said in front of a bunch of New Yorkers that he's going to Philly?
  6. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2009/7/23/1248372944860/Alberto-Contador-001.jpg
  7. I'm not ecstatic, but I'm pleased with the trades we made. Perhaps McDonald who's hitting .276/.400/.586 on the month of July and traditionally hits lefties well can fill the role of RH outfielder and Okajima with a 2.48 ERA in Pawtucket can fill the role of lefty reliever.
  8. Thanks for saying what we're all thinking.
  9. Should have been a $150 million baseball player. The rules for us are clearly different.
  10. Looks like we tried to acquire both but didn't think Harden was worth it after seeing his medicals. As for the medical the Yankees wanted on Jiminez:
  11. Considering he's a 4 time All-Star who's been great the last 8 years, at least two years. Remember when Drew had a poor regular season in his first year then he hit an ALCS winning grand slam and had a .927 OPS in 2008? Crawford's a great player in the prime of his career. If he doesn't get out of his funk this year, he will next year.
  12. It's kind of strange there are this many questions about Bedard's makeup. Let's remember the source though, Bedard doesn't get along with the media. Former teammate Bruce Chain had the following to say about him before he was dealt. As for his injury history, he's pitched almost twice as many innings as Colon the previous three years.
  13. The Red Sox have Wakefield listed as their starter on August 3rd. It looks like Bedard could pitch for us on Saturday against the Yankees. As of now, that series would set up as: Lester vs. Garcia Bedard vs. Sabathia Beckett vs. Hughes
  14. http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_westmoreland_31.767cf85e.html It sounds like at the very least he's going to be able to live a "normal" life physically and mentally. Good for him.
  15. I'm not going to hold my breath, but he does have a history of being a second half starter. 2009 before ASB - 4.93 ERA, 1.45 WHIP 2009 after ASB - 3.05 ERA, 1.11 WHIP 2010 before ASB - 4.78 ERA, 1.60 WHIP 2010 after ASB - 3.97 ERA, 1.22 WHIP 2011 before ASB - 6.84 ERA, 1.54 WHIP 2011 after ASB - 3.44 ERA, 1.69 WHIP
  16. Congratulations Andrew Miller on (barring a catastrophic injury) your last start as a member of the Red Sox!
  17. Yes, offense has nothing to do with the actual ability of hitting a ball.
  18. He's a fraud because he's struggled a few months?
  19. No one cares if he lives up to his stuff or not. They just want a guy who doesn't allow a dozen baserunners every time he takes the mound.
  20. You never know, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 hours after the deadline.
