  1. It's nearly impossible these days to make plans to record a game and watch it later, especially for somebody my age with an active social media presence. The primary sources that would spoil the scores for me are ESPN push notifications on my phone for every scoring play, game start/final, and a score update at the end of every 3 innings. It would also be hard for me to stay off of social media for a day. Scrolling through that Instagram timeline is hard to resist. Nowadays, if I miss a game, so be it. I'll just watch the highlights later that day or the next morning, assuming those highlights are worth watching. I also don't stay up past 10 or 11. Many nights I fall asleep listening to the radio.
  2. I've only used the IL slots 3 times total this year, two of which coming this week, with Plesac and Brandon Belt going down. And I have Judge, so maybe it's only a matter of time. Hopefully not, though. I like him as a person and ballplayer
  3. I'm willing to bet that it was the Braves who wanted to come back out and play, consider that a) they have today off only have to go to New York for their next series against the Mets c) led for the vast majority of the game before the delay and d) are off to a slow start and need any win they can get in a disappointing NL East
  4. Well the Nets I am considerably less excited about, as they are demolishing the Celtics so far
  5. Obviously, I'm not about to prop up New York sports teams, but I must concede how great it is to see the Knicks in the playoffs, and a full Madison Square Garden. Considering what NYC has been through in the last 15 months, and what Knicks fans have been through for decades, it's a story even I can get behind.
  6. Who can name the 3 games we've won when we didn't score 4? Both games against the Mets, and game 1 of the Twins doubleheader
  7. Yes it is. This game is probably over. Rain won't stop until at least 11
  8. Let it rain let it rain let it rain
  9. Hit one onto Lansdowne Vaz
  10. Pivetta is in line for the win after you bums wanted to send him to purgatory earlier tonight
  11. Called it again!
  12. Wow it is raining harder than I've seen since Tropical Storm Isaias last year
  13. This is basically the bottom of the 8th here
  14. Just starting to pour where I am in CT as well
  15. This is HUGE because now we have the lead in an official game
  16. Both teams are off tomorrow. Think the Braves would stay in town to finish the rest of tonight's suspended game? Not if they were leading. We need a run, now. Or more. Thunder is on its way to Boston. I'm not coming until Tuesday, but this storm is coming in the next 45 minutes
  17. He thinks the season is over and the team is unwatchable. Don't fall for any of his hot takes
  18. Well, we have gotten Kike and Arroyo back since then, and Santana was called up. Given his slump, he must have been the odd man out
  19. JD must have to go too then? Batting average down to .315!
  20. Absolutely no way we finish this game tonight, so we need to tie or retake the lead ASAP
  21. Slowest moving line of storms I've ever seen. We got a severe t-storm warning an hour ago and it's still not here. It's coming, but not nearly as fast as the British. We could have an official game by the time it's here
  22. Yeah, sometimes you can just feel it. I've called 1 or 2 this season.
  23. Hey look we're tied!!!!
  24. Ebbs and flows of a 162 game season mi amigo
