  1. If 40,000 people were screaming my name in a mocking way, it would get to me too. That's one of the reasons why I don't pitch.
  2. Go Bucs! I would kill for a Sox-Pirates WS. I bet the Yankees miss Russell Martin right now.
  3. As much as I would enjoy him leaving, I don't see it happening. He's managing his former team, a team that has a history of winning, and a team that has the ability to pay him more than anyone else. The 3 MIL salary is an important factor.
  4. Yeah. I benched him last week for the bye and Ryan got me 22. Rodgers had only gotten 8 in week 3 vs Cincy before that.
  5. AL WC: Guardians over Rays NL WC: Pirates over Reds ALDS: A's over Tigers in 4 Sox over Guardians in 4 NLDS: Braves over Dodgers in 5 Cardinals over Pirates in 5 ALCS: Sox over A's in 7 NLCS: Braves over Cardinals in 6 I'll stop here.
  6. Matt Ryan vs my beloved Jets or Rodgers vs the Lions?
  7. They've had some chances. They had Soto, they still have Rizzo, and their September call up Junior Lake wasn't too bad, but they could never get the pitching. They have Samardzija, but that's it. I guess you're right in the fact that it doesn't matter how long it takes. My point was that if they finally got the prospects and developed them, guys like Castro and Rizzo will be at their prime or past it. They might have one playoff year, but that's it.
  8. On a side note, it may not be a good thing if the Sox play Game 4 of the ALCS on my birthday. In 2003, Aaron Boone hit the walk off in game 7, a game I have no memory of. In 2004, it was game 3, the game the Skanks won 19-8 in Boston, a game I have a very vague memory of. In 2007, the Guardians beat the Red Sox to take a 3-1 lead in the ALCS. But finally, a good game: 2008 game 5, Sox were down 7-0 going into the bottom of the 7th and won in the 9th. The next game in that series is the last playoff win for the Sox.
  9. That's just what it's seemed like. They are wasting the career of Castro. He's their future, but they aren't providing him with anything.
  10. Perfect night for the Rangers to get Cruz back. He's in the lineup against Price. The Rangers have a rookie starting because they couldn't reorder their rotation since it was too important to even get to this game.
  11. Yes! UConn fired Pasqualoni! About damn time.
  12. A 10 year rebuilding project is not worth it.
  13. My teams got crushed. Hard.
  14. I feel the same way. The storyline for Sox-Dodgers would attract viewers from all over. However, in this new WC format, we have yet to see a WC team advance past the DS. I'm not sure how hard it is.
  15. I think that the Guardians will be able to beat either team and I would like the Rays to lose because they would be considered "not in the playoffs." How great would that be?
  16. If that's a real tweet than I don't believe it.
  17. Keep in mind that the Mets swept them in 4 games this year.
  18. I can't stand that either.
  19. So much college football.... I'm going all out with NCAA tonight, because I'm going to stop watching football for the whole month of October. Plus this Sox game isn't that entertaining tbh.
  20. Let's go Tribe! It will be fun to see a playoff game there. Everyone clapping along to the drum. I have family out there. They are ecstatic.
  21. Game time: 7:05 p.m. TV/Radio: NESN / WEEI. Orioles vs. Lester: Markakis 14-63, Jones 15-50, Roberts 9-43, Wieters 14-42, Hardy 6-24, Davis 3-22, Valencia 4-14, Casilla 0-8, Pearce 0-6, McLouth 0-6, Johnson 2-3, Morse 0-3, Snyder 0-3. Stat of the Day: The Sox have 1,291 strikeouts, a franchise record. But six other teams have more strikeouts this season. The Astros lead the majors with a record 1,510. Notes: The Sox are two games up on the Athletics in the race for best record in the American League with two games to play. Either a Red Sox win or an Athletics loss at Seattle gives the Sox home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a Division Series matchup against the wild card card winner starting on Friday. ... Lester is 7-2, 2.29 in 12 starts since the All-Star break. Lester is 15-3, 2.80 in 24 career starts against the Orioles but 1-3, 4.13 in his last four. ... Chen 2-2, 5.08 in six career starts against the Sox, 0-2, 8.04 in three starts this season. ... Napoli is 17 of 50 (.340) with 11 extra-base hits and 15 RBIs in his last 17 games. ... Drew is 14 of 43 (.326)with 10 extra-base hits in his last 12 games. ... The Sox haven't won 98 games since 2004. Only five teams in franchise history have won 98 or more games. ... The Sox are 8-9 against the Orioles with two games left. ... The Sox are 17-7 in September. Song of the Day: "We Take Care of Our Own" by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
  22. Wow. Good for you. That will be something that you will probably never forget.
  23. I still think Will is part of our future. His numbers have been impressive, because you forget what he did last year until getting hurt. He's been pretty good on defense too. Xander is the future at SS for now.
  24. Papi hits a HR while I'm in the shower. Of course.
  25. It's one of those TV movies with commercials, so I get to change back to NESN every once in a while.
