  1. Loney is the only true lefty in this lineup for the Rays.
  2. Let's go Sox!!!!!!!!!!!! Make it happen.
  3. I guess Xander is only on as a backup IF. Sox don't really have anyone besides him to play the left side.
  4. Not posting the game notes today. Just got home from school. Perfect timing.
  5. Come on VA, I don't even remember the name Devil Rays, but I still know that.
  6. For some reason, I have no interest in the Braves-Dodgers game, or even the series in general.
  7. It would be nice for our opponents to get weaker as we go along. I hope you're right.
  8. Great points. The Sox have worked the counts against opposing pitchers all year, and I don't expect that to change. They know that the sooner they get Moore out of the game tomorrow, the better. That is how they've won a lot of the games against top notch pitchers like Scherzer, Price, Kuroda and Moore. They are making them work, eventually clasp using them to be wild or to leave pitches right over the heart of the plate. Our great pitching has also clearly helped us, and I fully expect it to stay that way in the postseason. Think about this. Clay Buchholz, an early season Cy Young candidate, is now our #3 starter. That shows you how good Lester and Lackey have been, and we will need those performances if we are going to make a run to the World Series.
  9. Pirates and Cards starting up shortly. As much as I am rooting for the Pirates, I believe the Cardinals will win tonight and win the series.
  10. Doubront will be on ALDS roster By Peter Abraham The teams do not have to submit their rosters until tomorrow and the Red Sox won't officially reveal their 25 men until then. But lefty Felix Doubront nodded when asked if he would be on the roster. The Sox, sources said, will send OF Jackie Bradley Jr., LHP Drake Britton, RHP Rubby De La Rosa and INF Brandon Snyder to the team complex in Florida to keep working out. Also: • The Rays arrived in Boston around 5 a.m. today and will not have a formal workout at Fenway Park. Joe Maddon and Matt Moore will meet with the media in a few minutes. • Red Sox owner John Henry told WEEI his preference would have been to play Cleveland. Given the talent on the respective rosters, there's not much about about that. • The Red Sox are now favored to win the World Series according to Bovada. They're 15/4 and the Dodgers are 9/2. • The Red Sox have been taking a lot of batting practice in recent days, so David Ortiz decided to have some fun. He grabbed an aluminum bat and tried to launch a ball at the red seat in right field, the spot once reached by Ted Williams. Big Papi put on a show but fell short. “I didn’t work out,” he said. “I almost broke my back.”
  11. All I'm asking for is a sweep. I'm not going to bash anyone, because I'm not a mean person. We don't want to give the Rays anymore momentum.
  12. The Sox were 12-7 against the Rays this year. We've beaten Price at least twice and Matt Moore at least once (correct me if I'm wrong). We have one of the best playoff rotation. Lester is our ace again, and he's going game 1. Lackey has had a great year, and he'll go game 2. Buchholz, who has been good since returning, goes game 3. When you have a strong rotation like this, it really builds team morale and gives them the feeling that they can do it.
  13. Fine with me. Bring it on.
  14. Too bad he went to Cleveland.
  15. Is that it? If so, that means Lester would start games 1, 4, and 7 of the ALCS. Beautiful.
  16. How about an old fashioned 3 game sweep this weekend?
  17. Well since BTR has blessed my mojo eternally..... Kidding!
  18. This is just a desperate news story released becuase of the small, but increasing chance of Girardi going to the Cubs. The press is already trying to find possible candidates for a job that might not even open up.
  19. Last year, I hated MLB Postseason TV. This year, it's the same, but it seems like a major improvement. I like the quad view, with the home, centerfield, and baselines. You get the TBS audio, but not any of the graphics.
  20. I feel the same way. My heart is rooting for the Pirates to go all the way, but they have a tough road to get there. Their city deserves good baseball, especially now with the struggles of the Steelers. I still believe that Pittsburgh is a hockey town first, but having a good team to fall back on during the summer would be great for them. Of course the Pirates would have to maintain this success. Unlike last year's Orioles, who got in with those crazy 1 run game stats, the Pirates didn't do any magical that got them here. They just won. That's a recipe for coming back again. Of course, they are going to have to contend with at least the Cardinals every year, maybe even the Reds too.
  21. Great points. He would be worth more to the Cubs of he just got them to the playoffs, nevermind winning the WS.
  22. It was more like Cue-to! Cue-to!
